It’s similar to a “green” concept used by coaches and teams at all levels of football. This year in Madden, with 99 PB HBs and psychic offensive linemen, this is a great concept to get pressure against all 6-man protection schemes.

Today Calhoun takes the time to explain how to defend the dreaded streak and downfield lob. These two routes have been causing issues for defenses all season long in Madden NFL 13, and thankfully Calhoun is here to help stop them!

I explain why streaks toast off man coverage and press and a simple way to negate this. In off man coverage when the DB bails and turns his hips, he never regains full speed, thus allowing the WR to gain extreme separation on deep lobs. I did a video on NCAA 13 on this, and the same concepts apply. You won’t have time to set up blitz packages, but this will maximize your man coverage and keep your DB from being toasted. The DB slowing down goes unnoticed in live games and leaves you scratching your head. Utilize this technique and disguise your looks.

Using Total Control Passing and anticipation to user-catch playbook-exclusive routes is a real-life concept used by some of the top QBs from around the league. “Throwing to a spot” will help elevate your offense to new levels and incorporate routes you normally wouldn’t use that may become your go-to plays.
