Look I know everybody does this cheezy little intro on message sites, but I am hella excited that I finally found a site that gamers can not only talk gaming but strategy as well, so was up!!!! My only beef with the college game versus the madden franchise is simply the passing physics that are displayed in the previous versions. I have been playing college for about 4 years now and am a hardcore fan, I used to buy the National Athlon sports edition just to name the all players even the incoming freshman from the back!! (until I found that I could e mail my memory card out and get it all done for the price of the mag>)
If this has already been talked of in a previous thread just direct me! But in 2004 I use FSU and their starter is Chris Rix, his overall rating is a 88 and his THP is 88 and his THA is 84 now those numbers seem prettty good to me but I can't tell you how many times I've overthrown my recievers even when they are wife open!!! I could see if I was on the run or if I was throwing off the backfoot or something, but time and time again I will be chillin in the pocket and whoops sorry you just threw it to the line judge on a 10 yard out!!!! I've tried to lead the pass more with the L stick and even then sometimes you get some overthrows!! I don't know if this is just a part of the game that EA wants to incorporate to simulate the college experience, but if they are, could they at least please drop the accuracy of the QB's to reflect the throwing tendencies in the game. I mean an 84 THA is pretty good if you ask me he throws more like a 72. And I've also experimented with other stronger QB's, and I get the same results. Any thoughts?????

it's the game, turn your sliders up if you want the accuracy to be better. then again rix is horrible, so it could be him j/k lol

I know all about the sliders but I just want the numbers to reflect the performance, I mean how you like it if you using Darren Sproles and his speed is a 96 or something and he ran like an 88, I mean wouldn't that be discouraging???? As far as the sliders go me and all my roomates used to pump them up on our dynasties and franchises in madden so we wwouldn't kill the computer so bad, so I do know of them I just want the #'s to reflect performance thats all.

that's the only suggestion i can think of, just don't turn them up all the way. only a couple of notches. could it be how hard you are throwing the ball? i play with UGA, and even when i bring in shockley he is pretty decent passing the ball. i have more overthrows than any of the other problems you stated. i guess it's a learn touch. who cares though, 05 will be out in like 5 days! did you see the new screens that are up?

Over throws is what I am talking about, but what is Shockley's Accuracy though?? I could see if it was in the low 70's or high 60's or something, but when we are talking mid 80's I expect to complete about 85% of my passes. Yeah those new screens are real nice, however i'm not sold on the Agile Running System though, I mean is it what is that all about??? Isn''t it coming out on Tuesday the 13th?????

but when we are talking mid 80's I expect to complete about 85% of my passes.dude that isn't even true in madden let alone the NFL. consider this, bret farve completed like 62% of his passes last year and i might be exaggerating that # a lil bit. IMO rix rated that highly should complete anywere from 53-60% of his passes. 85% is a bit high even by NFL standars

I feel you on the realism factor of completions in real life as opposed to virtual reality. and brett favre is great, but in maddden i was 15 years into my franchise with the Bengals and I had Marcus Vick at the Helm and he was a beast!!!!!!! I mean i was completing an insane amount of passes and hardly ever over throwing my recievers, granted I built him to a 99, but thats just how madden would differ from college so much. however i know Rix may make it to the NFL but the big time QB's i'm talking 1st rounders like Rivers, Manning and Roethlesberger, those dudes should hardly ever over throw someone by like 10 yards. but what i am talking about is just that "VIRTUAL REALITY" i mean you and i know that we cater to the playing style we get accustomed to with running high percentage plays that we may complete like 70% of the time but if you control your reciever with that you may complete even more of them!! i'm not talking about any cheese plays or glitches but the crafted money plays that seem to work time and time again for you, cause I know if some pressure forces shockley to gets out of the pocket and starts to scramble, that corner comes floating down if hes in zone or in man, and that reciever on that side of the field is WIDE!!! just some thoughts though!!!

The over throws used to happen to me a lot, but I started working on synching the quarterback's drop with the depth of the primary receiver's route. I've also become very accustomed at manual catching the ball even on the quick underneath throws. Go into practice mode and see what you come up with. Everything I do in practice I carry it over to the game.

mad bomber i don't know if i know what you are talking about with the synching of the recievers route with the QB dropping back???
djwill13: man i used to play the first madden online like a fanatic and my user name was TOBIAS1, my record was like 89-36, alright maybe not a fanatic, but damn thats a lot of games online, with glitchers, pullers and the ever so fun cheesers.
but when madden 2004 came out i played 11 games on there and won 9 and lost 2, however when i looked at my records i was 5-6???? but then i checked my records and i was losing games 2-0, what kind of **** is that  i only played a little bit of college online cuz i love playing my dynasties and franchises with my roomates.
so pretty much i got burned on the whole online experience man, i mean i love to play other people and am willing to do so at any time, but i can't stand playing online and questioning if i'm losing due to a glitch or if that person is just better than me. i mean i was hearing there was all kinds of crazy things you can do to a person online, like running through people, getting every onside kick, changing the camera, even shooting past the corner with a reciever with like a 88 speed, hurry up glitch blitz. i mean come on man, how fun is beating someone like that knowing your cheating???!!!the **** just got hella disturbing. but as long as this is VIRTUAL football based on mathematical computations written by humans who CAN error there will always be that not so realistic play factor.
i tried to get into some leagues online but by the time i looked around everyone was deep into there seasons and i couldn't just jump in.
i saw this thing on G4TV how certain spots all over the country people are bringing their PS2's to like bar's and halls and **** and they are having a Madden or College game night!!! similar to how the guys get together once a week to just play cards or some **** like that.
that would be tight if there were sometning like that around me, but i would taje it to the next level though.....holla back if you want to know more :D

i think what bomber means by syncing the qb dropback to the recievers is for outs, slants, hitches, and ins the qb should drop back 1-3 steps
for deep outs, deep ins, hooks, it should be 3-5
for posts, digs, post corner, flag, go, wheel routes it should be 5-7
correct me if i'm wrong bomber, but i've found these drops to be effective for the patterns i've mentioned
