I just picked up the new guide from prima for NCAA2005 from EB Games. Our store here will have the game Monday and will be open til Midnight selling the game.
The guide was missing something, I was looking though the defenses and the 3-3-5 was not in the guide. The 4-2-5 was in there though. And my FSU team accordingly by the book, was just a strong as USC. I love FSU, but we are not that good yet, not compared to USC and LSU.
Both FSU and USC are like 98 overall's and it showed that FSU had the best defense overall with a 98. ?
Bomber, do you read this guide?

Yeah I don't think Prima did a good job on this year's guide. My biggest gripe with it was they didn't put the team spefic playbooks in there.

For sports games I've always felt Prima does a rather poor job. I mean they barely provide you with any worth while tips, no team specific play books, and no schemes that should best suit your team.

I always get sucked in by that nice glossy looking cover page and buy it. Then I bring it home and within 10 minutes realize all the stuff that is in there I could learn by myself in one good sit down session of playing. I then find some unsuspecting soul around christmas time who gets the game and is all excited and being the nice guy that I am give it to them. They think I am a great guy and all I want it is out of my bathroom

Oh sorry the 3-3-5 defense was in there, it was at the lower bottom of the page, this book sucks.

I have all the Madden PS2 guides and each one has some good tidbits but I never played NCAA until last year, so thanks for the heads up. I will still get the Madden Prima Guide as this will be my last one.

It does suck, and I am a sucker for buying it,lol. Just looking at it is enough to get you excited about the game. Did you know the key offensive player for UTEP is the Punter # 48 , 70AWR, 91KP, 87AC, is UTEP really that bad that their punter is their bes offensive player-haha.

that is kinda sad. i thought special teams was a unit by itself? that can't be good at all. then again, that sounds like a perfect team to start a dynasty with!

DJ you are so right. I love to take the worst team, I haven't tried Duke yet, and build them into contenders. I took Rutgers to the NC 4 out of 5 years I was there, and they have been rated in the top 10 for the years I left. That is a great feeling. Duke is a tough team to want to take over. The stadium is small, the uniforms are ugly, and my own bias is that they are way to preppy for my liking

yeah thats where my NY Giants picked up the up and coming star Dave Brown in the supplemental draft. I have my thoughts that Browns family had some sort of info on the Mara family that made them pick that guy and give up a first rounder the following season. The guy had a bad arm, bad head and no mobility, seems like a smart move to me :(
