Hey What will be the better pass defense in NCAA 2005, 3-3-5 or 4-2-5.

Both defenses pretty much use similiar coverages such as cover 3, cover 1, man to man, etc. The 3-3-5 however has defenses that drop 8 men into coverage.

As mentioned before you said the 3-3-5 or 30 stack is good for stopping running plays and passing, but the prima guide, it states that the 3-3-5 is good for only stopping passing plays.
I will take your opinion on this one, just wanted you to know.

Yeah , hey TrojanNole look under the 4-4 defense under tips in the guide it states the all out blitz is new, but and I mean but, this is a good one, it sais 4-4 mad robber is also new this year- HELLO!!! Now I don't know if the play looks any different but it sure sounds the same in the caption, 2 ILB blitz, 2 Olb blitz with 3 deep coverage. Hey do you think the guys that made this guide even played NCAA 2004 - what the freak -haha.

I also know I am looking to knitpick, but get this in the primia guide, dimer fire green and dime fire 2 states that two OLB blitz, man I could have sworn they are DB's if you run the play default.

Trust me on this one guys, I know what the 3-3-5 defense is good at defending in the game and in real life :D. I don't think those Prima writers have a clue. I just played the cpu on Heisman default with 7 minure quarters and I was able to negate the cpu's running game only using the 3-3-5 defense. How the cpu got me was on two long bombs to the endzone. I lost 14-3. The problem was my offensive players constantly loosing their composure. This is a big deal because it causes their overall ratings to fluctuate during the game. My quarterback's default accuracy was 84 at one point during the game he had dipped to 78.

lOVE THESE DEFENSES, after playing 3 games I am in love with both of them, I like to bllitz out of both formations, only trying to get a feel for the game it doesn't seem like you have to make to many necessay adjustments to get a good pass rush.

That 3-3-5 is nice. The 4-2-5 appears to be a good defense against the option.

That's the issue I'm having right now. My guys just get in slumps and it is over. I lost EVERY game last night. The first game I got killed by FSU. Then I hit practice looked at a few things, came back and lost 17-7 to Clemson, and 14-10 to the Gators. FSU kills me everytime man. Friggin Thorpe is a monster. Don't EVER use press man overage vs FSU, you will get Burned BAD especially by Thorpe #1. Which plays out of 3-3-5 were you using Bomber? I ran cover 2 and I forget the other one where the Right LOLB and MLB blitz, but I control the MLB and hit the gap off the outside hip of the RDE. I got through and killed the QB alot with this play. Check it out. There is also the zone blitz one. Just move the MLB over, the RDE is going to pinch. On the zone blitz play the ROLB will blitz occupying the offensive Tackle. You can come off the outside hip of the RDE swing through the gap and destroy the QB. Works really nice. I'm nervous about running 3-3-5 vs the run though.

OK just got home editing this. It's monster green, stack storm red, and Stack Middle Blitz. These are really nice vs Ace Slot, and any type of shotgun.

Yep the Mid Blitz, Zone Blitz, SS Dogs, and Monster Green were the plays I used in that game. The cpu caught me in man coverage on two occassions and hit two long bombs for scores. Outside of that I was able to contain their offense. I'm going to try those plays out the way you used them they appear to be quite lethal.

Well I just did something and I finally kicked FSU's ARSE 38-10. I had a cycle of going through and setting the audibles every time to something different. I use the A button for 3-3-5 audibles, the Blue for 44, and the Red for 4-2-5. I cycled through those plays every time and set different ones for the audibles. I just chose 2 man and lined up in that as a base, then as I scaned the offense, I audibled to my play. Worked very nice. Added a couple of the zone blitzes in there. I got 4 INT's, 4 Sacks, 1 TD on defense, 3 forced fumbles LOL. Gave them only 1 big play. Ohh let me go back that one play is Pinch Blitz, I think that's what it is called.
