If the rockets were to blow things up would you keep Tracy McGrady or Yao Ming?

I would keep McGrady even though Yao is the better player he can not stay healthy plus China is his first priority

Keep T-Mac...Yao's been good but not as dominant as he was in China.

why would you keep T Mac?

1) The NBA is a big man's league for the most part. The teams who have won titles (for the most part) were built around elite big men.

2) While building the team around Mac, you have won a grand total of 0 playoff series (not saying its his fault, but its just the facts)

True but T-Mac is at least on the court in the playoffs

I just fill you can not serve 2 masters and Yao is on loan from China

Forgive my selfish American attitude I just want my star's first concern to be the team that pays his paycheck, not the people that take 1/3 of it.

Neither option is great.

Yao hasn't consistently shown he has what it takes to be a big man that can lead a team to a Chip, whether it's because of his play or injurys.

And two franchises have given the keys to T-mac (Orland and Houston) telling him lead us, and he still hasn't won a playoff series. Which isn't all on him, it's been a combination of having teams in Orlando that just weren't all that good and teams in Houston who just weren't better the competition.

The only problem with T-Mac is that he carries his team for the whole season and he's drained by the playoffs...he needs mroe than Yao to take the load off. And if Skip to My Lou wasn't hurt then maybe it would have played out different.

Orlando should have an asterick because Grant Hill (in his prime) was supposed to come in and help T-Mac out...or T-Mac complement Hill...but anyway you go he ended up leading the team by himself with no supporting cast...goes to Houston and like you said Houston wasn't that much better of a situation.

I'm not a Rockets fanatic by far but who the hell else carried the team? Alston? Battier? Yao? Luther Head? Mutumbo had his moments but he's no scorer...T-Mac played with a bum shoulder and a half bum knee for more than half the season...

How about adding a third option in the offence? How about having consistant pg play?

I think the think with T-Mac is he doesnt want to be top banana and in Orlando he was going in as second an after thought because Grant Hill was suppose to be the man and we all know how that turned out. T-Mac talks too much and it always comes back to bite him and he really got me this year when he complained after a loss about being tired and a fresh 6'10 Kirlenko(sp) checking him, u wanna be a bear u gotta be a grizzly. I still like T-Mac wish he was a Knick but prolly not in D'Antoini system

A third scorer is especially if he is a pg is probably the best option. Also having antiquate back up center to spell Yao has to be another priority.
Mutombo did not play until he went down
Another year under the 2 rookies Scola and Landry should help

The Sports radio had a " rumor " that the Pistons were talking to the rockets about a trade

T-Mac for Sheed ant RIP

got me thinking I would rather trade Yao defiantly could get more for him in return

Another year or so T-Mac could be outta the equation...ur right a scoring PG like Mayo or Rose (who most likely will be long gone by the time the Rockets pick unless they...TRADE) or TRADE for a young promising player like Acie Law IV...A scoring sf would be good too but then he has to be a good defender to offset Battier being on the bench.

Agreeeeeeeeeeeeeed. IMO, Mac needs to go somewhere where he is the second option. He can't be Kobe, Bron, Mike, Magic... he needs to be Pippen, Worthy... basicallly he needs to be the compliment.

Sweet Jesus this would be dumb as crap for Detroit. I would rather have EITHER ONE of those two over Mac.
