Now THIS is a real problem that EA can fix.....two nights in a row now...at or around 6pm it's impossible to connect to the EA server....I've talked to a bunch of people online...and they all say the same thing....it's very difficult to get online during prime time.
If it's THIS bad now...imagine what it's gonna be like when Madden is released!
EA should look into this, cause if the problem isn't fixed they are gonna lose customers....and Bill Gates isn't gonna like a bunch of angry NCAA and Madden fans cancelling their subscriptions to Xbox Live because of EA's refusal to add bandwidth.
Mods?? can any of ya'll get EA to address this??

I just got off the phone with EASports Tech Support....and this is the line they fed me.....
If your gamer tag is not exactly 15 characters you will only be able to get online intermittantly(their word not mine).
I explained to him that it's odd that this is only an issue between the hours of 6pm and midnight eastern time. I continued to tell him that my gamertag is 14 characters....and during the morning and afternoon hours I connect immeadiatly. He really didn't have an answer for that and kinda got flustered....I then told him I was logged in on their website....and it gives a count of the number of people online at that time....and that the number had been at 6112 for over an hour. He really got flustered then....and said (in a semi raised voice) "EASports is aware of the problem and is working to correct it....we have no time frame for resolution and it will "PROBABLY"(once again his word not mine)be fixed by the time Madden comes out.
I don't know about ya'll...but this is bu11sh1t....and I will be watching VERY carefully...cause if they don't fix this "character recognition" problem I won't be buy Madden.

I think the problem is the fact that they are running 2004 and 2005 servers. It's gonna take them some time to figure it out because our profiles are capable of being used on both servers, but the 2 servers are different. I wish they would have forced us to create new accounts for 2005 games. Then their wouldn't be the compatibility problems.

It's good to see that EA is bringing their "experience" to Xbox Live. I'm not sure it would be possible to make a better argument for Microsoft's position than the one being made right now with NCAA. I spent the better part of an hour today trying to get a game in with a friend of mine, but in the end we threw our hands up and whipped out some ESPN 2K4. If EA doesn't have this problem solved in the next 24 hours, I think it's pretty safe to say that NCAA is going to make it just long enough to cashier in for 2K5. I'd rather give my money to a company that actually takes the time to properly support my console of choice, especially when their product is just as good.

EA is aware of the problem and it is being fixed. Xbox Live has been a much bigger success than estimated right out of the game. Shouldn't be long now and you'll get that trademark butter-smooth Live experience.

I have not had any problems with 05 with the playstation2. Buddies, with XBOX, are having all kinds for slowdown and caught not being about to log on, theyre have to try 2 or 3 times to get on.

And why would you ignore it? I don't know if you are used to this sort of thing on the PS2 or not, but I have never, ever had a problem with any game on XBL. Not only has EA's servers been down for the greater part of the last two days, but when they are on they have either a) been disconnecting me as soon as I got into the lobby b) let me get on but had an inaccurate friends list or c) let me get on, play a game, only have that game be laggier than a 56K modem game of NFL2K1. Several people I know have called EA to try and figure out the problem, and were told that if they tried to log on after six and had gamertags that were not exactly fifteen characters long, they couldn't get on. What the hell is that about?
Will EA have this problem fixed eventually? Sure. Does that make it acceptable? No, it does not.
