I am trying to test my own sliders, but haven't perfected them yet. Those of you who have a knack of developing sliders I have a few questions for you. 1) How do you get started a) Do you turn off home field advantage? b) Do you play the CPU w/ the same team (example OK ST. vs. OK ST., UCONN vs. UCONN)? c) Do you turn off injuries? 2. How many times should I test the sliders before tweaking? 3. What basic setting should I use for a template for staring my sliders for the most realistic results ( Jr. Varsity, Varsity, AA, or Heisman)?
4. How many minutes should the Qtrs be?

Thanks in advance

These are just MHO, and there are others here more experience than but here's my methodolgy:

1) I've been using home field advantage but that's just a personal preference. I also play with injuries ON, and usually play with my team (Bama) but do eperiment with other teams, especially rivalry games.

2) It takes a lot of games before I feel confident that my slider setting are fair. I will start off by playing a weak team, a team about the same ranking as mine, and then a top team. From these inital games, I can get a good feel for what was "realistic" by the outcomes (score/stats).

3) I play on Varsity because it's my understanding the higher setting basically just boost everyone's stats across the board.

4) Length of quarters depends really on how fast you call/run plays, but for me I've found that 8 minutes per QTR usually yields a realistic number of total plays per game. I'd say the range in usually 7-10 minute QTR depending on the individual, that is IF you want the outcomes to be realistic.

Hope that helps a little, hopefully some of the hard-core players will also chime in.
