Keep getting burned by the QB rollout

Ok Im getting really frustrated with this game. I call my d and everyone is covered QB rolls out I click on the guy in the flats to takle him QB throws ball for big gain. Same story over and over.

It seems like every time i blitz the qb rolls out and then when the reciever reach the end of their routes my d goes stupid and the WR get wide open.

Then on top of that wether im blitzing the CB or hes in a hook or flat hes getting out ran by Eli Manning? I mean wtf. and im running qb contains cb blitzes etc and i keep getting burned on the pass.

I always have played safety and am thinkin maybe id be better off just playing a lb or de blitzing cause my pressure never seems to get there in time.

Like the 46 bear cover 2 tip it works some of the time but after he sees where its coming from hell just roll out to the right and buy time and then wether its the cb or lb i click on to sack the qb right as i get there they pass to someone wide open.

I dunno maybe am an idiot but i keep getting burned by the roll out. any suggestions. Keep in mind i do qb containment d cb blitzes etc. Like in the cb dogs zone or the cb blitz from the 46 normal and bear formations.

not sure if the qb is doing some pa on you, but for awhile i couldn't stop the rollout after a PA, and would get burn like that. Once i started to pass commit though the qb was sacked every time.

I gotta agree. I joined this board because I was a PC Madden guy until this year, when they finally stopped producing it. So I sucked it up and bought it for the 360. It's fun, but I'm SICK of getting mowed down with a scrambling QB. Not only does the jerk boot-leg out to the left or right EVERY play, but it's impossible to blitz him! My blitzing LB's get stuffed via their seemingly invincible o-line. I can't blitz CB's as the opponent takes advantage of it. Seriously, this guy just drops back Vince Young about 15 freakin yards, gets at least 5 seconds to throw, and throws a 40/50 yard bomb down the field.

I'm seriously frustrated with this year of Madden. The online gameplay is ridiculous. You can stomp opponents with ZERO run game. You can go for it on fourth down and 15 and convert it like it's a 4th and inches.

They really need to redevelop the game. When an idiot goes for it on fourth down, it should be SIGNIFICANTLY harder to covert than a normal play or 3rd down situation.

So how does one tame the scrambling QB? What packages to throw at hiM?

Bring the outside pressure when you have a feeling it's coming and hit pass commit. Problem solved!

I wish this worked but unfortunately, it doesn't against a few QBs. Yea, Brady will get smashed but Vince Young, Russell and TJ will still get away and kill you with some BS.

Contains don't work cause they will just drop straight back and let the DE sit there watching him. DB blitzes or corner blitzes leave you vunerable.

It can be extremely frustrating. All you can hope for is a bad throw and a pick. Even a sack on 2nd down with it 3rd and 22 they scramble and hit someone on a deep post.

I tend to run the clock and go for two and the win against these guys.

If you do that, and control the ends, you will be able to get around the edge and to the QB faster.

Now when you say ends you mean my DE's correct? If so most speed quarterbacks can get away from mine and I have to use a LB and the opens the middle up even more. But I am going to try and crash out and see how it goes.

Yeah, I mean the DE's. The point of controlling them is to keep the QB in the pocket, then get the sack.

Thanks Prez. The only problem with sitting at work and reading about Madden is learning something new and then wanting to go home right away to try it out......I need a 42" Plasma and a 360 in my office

I normally use the Dime package that bring the corner blitz. I don't like to see the defense aligning over the closest man. If they would line up as they are designed to people wouldn't get away with rolling out.

Outside of the Dime. I also use the 3-3-5 blitz with the outside corners attacking. By the time he rolls out, it will be too late for him to see the outside corners coming. Once you do that you should be able to discourage him from playing like that.

I also use the 3-3-5 DE contain. One of the best all around defenses on the game. Take one of the containing linemen and drif to the opposite side he is flowing too. This defense is pretty good at stopping Cheezy play....

Crash the Dline out or run QB contain plays. Both of those should help. Also if you're not blitzing much try sending just 1 extra man on the side you expect the roll out to go.

Send a corner blitz, press coverage and crash your defensive line out. I like to use the Strike 2 Deep play out of Dime Normal Play with your linebacker and cover the man running the slant across the middle of the field. You can also pass commit but the timing has to be very precise this year. Hit up on the hit stick exactly when the QB looks like he is handing the ball off. Watch your D pile up the sacks if he keeps running the play.

Note: Don't worry if he actually runs the ball. The pass commit doesn't really hurt your run defense this year.
