I'm playing Heisman after a full season with LSU on AA and only having 2 close games (21-3 vs SC in SEC Champ game and 28-7 vs Mich in NC game). I won a NAILBITER vs Florida in the Swamp 14-12, but now, I'm having diffuculty running the ball against cupcake teams and Troy St came into Death Valley and scored 33 damn points IN THE FIRST HALF! THAT ISH WOULD NEVER EVER EVER EVER HAPPEN. Not Troy St and DEFINITELY not AT LSU against THIS defense. Granted I didn't get to finish the game b/c I had to leave suddenly to go get my girl (but I wasn't THAT mad! :) ), but when I run counter plays and thier defensive tackle crashes through EVERY TIME for a TFL...it gets pretty annoying. And don't let any WR catch a pass across the middle and not get tackled immediately. You'll be picking "FG BLOCK! Also, even though thier DBs were rattled AND had red bars, they were STILL knocking down passes to my streaking FULLY COMPOSED AND GREEN WRs. I like the challenge of passing on Heisman b/c you pay for making STUPID mistakes, but when I can't gain more than 2 yards vs a subpar defensive team no matter WHAT run I pick, its kinda aggravating. But AA was just TOO easy. Might try AA with adj sliders if Heisman keeps making me mad with running game. I'm not looking for 20 yard runs EVERY time, but I dont want 1-5 yard losses every other play either. And Troy St isn't even good in this game.

Do u think that have a hard disk drive (HDD) give the game a boost. Bcause what u talk about happens with me on AA. I was plying Lousiana st. vs. Miami last night. i was down 21-0 b4 I knew it.. I was like Bull Sh*T!!!! GRRRR....

I've been playing on Heisman from day one. I struggled at first but what I'm learning is the defensive A.I. seems to have trouble when you overload your players to one side of the field. Try that, wait for the defense to adjust and then you hot route to the open receivers.

I just started playing on heisman as well, and i think it tries to force u to b more patient with the running game. I find that my first 5 or 6 carries are real short but after some PA and some option, the ground game becomes more steady. Not gonna average huge numbers, but you may be able to at least be effective with it. Let me know how it goes for u.

Counters are F****** useless on HEISMAN!!!!!!!!!!
I mean everytime I run the counter the weak side guard that is supposed to be pulling waits and lets the DT in for a loss!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTIME
I think out of the 100 times I ran it it worked maybe twice. Definitely the running game is a lot tougher on heisman, dives iso's and the occasional pitch, and you do have to set up the cpu with PA and options to see effectiveness, I do like that, but the damn counter used to be my money run with a speedy half back, and now its out of here!!!!!!!!!
The passing game is kinda booty because the corners use ESP on a out route or a button hook to perfectly place themselves, but on the long bomb they are F****** clueless!!!!!!!
The man to man defense by the CPU is horrible!!!!! I don't know how many times I got the outside linebacker lined up on a reciever cuz the DB took the HB in the flats!!! However the gay thing is that the LB will run stride for stride with the reciever on any kind of route about 80-% of the time  C'mon I could see if if it was Urlacher or Lewis , but I'm talking mediocre LB's doing it consistently.........hmmmmmmmm
Heisman and ALL MADDEN have always been tougher than the other play levels, but sometimes I wonder if the programmers bend the physics a little for the CPU on these higher levels though

Well, ever since the NCAA series added the Heisman level (NCAA 2000?) I have never played anything else. Yeah, I've taken my lumps at times getting used to the nuances of each different version, but the NCAA series is the only reason I own a PS2 so I get my practice in. ;)
I don't think the Heisman level this year is any harder per se, but it's just different (in a good way). One of my big complaints in the NCAA 02-04 versions is that it was just too easy to pass and control the ball and time of possession. That has changed this year. I don't believe the passing game is too hard, it feels just right to me. In my Rutgers dynasty, I've had some huge games (25-38, 373 yards, 4 TDs against Michigan State) and some meltdowns (13-31, 141 yards, 3 INTs against Syracuse).
The running game is also better. There's more variety in the sense that the outside running game is effective at times, but the goal line HB Iso is no longer an automatic on 4th and 1.
Now for some tips suggestions for competing on Heisman:
-Be patient on offense and know the situation. Not every drive has to end in points to be a success. If you're backed up on your own 5 yard line, make it a goal to get out to the 30 to establish better field position.
-Be unpredictable on offense. Run a draw on 3rd and 12. Throw a play action post on third and inches. Throw the ball 5 times in a row on 1st down.
-Be conservative (for the most part) on defense. Play alot of cover 3 and cover 4. Pick your spots to blitz, but vacate the underneath zones when you do it (ie, limit the big plays).
-Practice, practice, practice the special teams (all segments). Kicking FGs is hard on Heisman. You have to do it over and over again to get it down. Did I mention you need to practice? :D Big plays are possible this year in the kickoff and punt return games. Do it over and over again until you get a feel for where the running lanes are and how to read your blocks. Just an extra 50 yards a game in returns can make a huge difference in the outcome. Six games into my dynasty, I have both a kickoff and punt return for a TD. In retrospect, I think I would have lost both of those games without the big plays on special teams.
