I just finished a game online that was double OT...
This guy, who I already played once and knew he was going to come up throwing bombs out of the playaction...so I found the most effective defense were the Cover 2 Man and Double X and Double outs out of the 3-3-5. If you're looking for a good defense to shut down the deep ball and stop the athletic quarter back just call one of these and manually spy the QB. I shut him down all game but he managed to snag a deep bomb with less than a minute left in the 4th quarter down 14-7...carried it into the endzone the next play to take us into OT...He comes out running the ball to my suprise and has no problem putting in the first score of overtime. On my drive I really screwed around and go into big trouble. I believe it was 3rd and 18...the guy was already offering to play me again so I could be the home team. I ran a speed option desperately trying to put myself in good position to convert a 4th down... I get about 8-10 yards...then on the next play I call one of the Angle plays out of the Trips Gun (the one in the filmroom)... I pull back on the Matchup stick and realize the safety covering the closest slot WR is rattled. I recognize that it's single coverage so I waste no time snapping the ball and lobbing to him... good for 6. The guy is cussing at the mic at this point, it was great. I get the ball first next series and score easy... he scores as well but I shut him down on a toss play as he goes for 2 and I hold on to win 28-27. IMO this is my "greatest game" but on my list it finished as number 3.
