Mad Bomber... ever year when I order the Playbook I see the sections on making a play-calling sheet. I keep telling myself if I ever get the time I'll actually sit down and make one. I was just curious do you actually use this stuff playing a video game? I would never admit to it if I did, it sounds kind of dorky...but I guess those who love the game and especially love to coach would really have fun doing it for a video game. Not to mention I'm sure it would really help me tremendously with my play-calling... Often times I'm just searching and taking up the whole play clock. Me and my buddy always make jokes when we play...about our play-calling sheets and he said he was going to make himself a QB wrist-band lol.

I've done it before with the NFL games Madden and ESPN because the playbook size in those games are much larger than they are in NCAA. Even if I don't fill out the entire sheet it's still a good idea to practice plays for certain situations because sooner or later you're going to see that situation in a game. I practice what plays I'd use for red zone, 2pt conversion, backed up inside my 5 yard line, first down, second down, third and long, etc. I also practice plays vs the common coverage schemes so that when I get in a game and get a certian coverage I'll know exactly where to go with the ball. If anything making a call sheet would help you to organize your practices and the more you become familiar with your call sheet you'll eventually have it in your head.

I have used the call sheets several time including for this weekends tournament 8-man scrimmage. They are so many plays to remember I just cant do it and in a 8-man tourney we come across so many different players its good to have to look at those situations.

I have a play call sheet for COG's Run N Shoot offense which is what I'm working on tonight for tomorrow and one for Air Raid's offensive scheme.
I also have these setup for my defense since I like to make half time adjustments during the tournament.

I may not be very good at the game but atleast I'm organized and have a idea of what I am doing and am trying to learn more about the game itself.
We are so into the game during the tournaments we all actually scout other ppl while they play and prepare for them before they get to me. If he's a bomber I have a plan for that if he's a maryland I kind of player then I have a different plan for him.

This isnt online what I'm doing its playing with a bunch of guys at our live tournaments. I really dont do much scouting online but I do look at there playbook choice, scrambling %, passing running ratio, hail mary %, option % you can see all of these before U ply someone.
