Hi Burbur,
I know flexbone, wishbone, maryland I, and power I are very difficult for the defense(s) to stop. I found out that defense is able to stop them when I went to practice. I believe the goal line is stop the QB or HB quickly when it snapped. I suggest that you have to go to the practice for the goal line defense against flexbone, wishbone, maryland I, and power I. You will understand more better than that. thank.

Are you having trouble stopping it on PS2 online? I know the slowdown on XBOX Live makes using the triple option a tough go. If I spot one of those formations I like to use the 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 SS Spy plays. I'll take control of the FS in the middle of the field and use the strafe button to flow easily in either direction. The two strong safeties in those two plays do a good job of making the quarterback pitch. That allows myself and my cornerback on that side to be in position to take the pitch man. The fullback dive and the quarterback darting through the middle is sometimes an issue when using the 3-3-5.

i think it's hard to defend also, and i think alot of ppl find it hard to defend, because A.) ppl don't see it alot cause on online most of the popular teams don't run the flexbone/wishbone, maryland I/power I , so when ppl play nebraska they dont know what hit em. B.) i think it's hard to defend is because you really dont have the defensive equalvient of a flexbone or wishbone, you really can't run goaline cause about half the plays in wishbone/flexbone are passes, which most ppl think its like a glorified goaline which its not, because you can send players in motion in those formations to make them look like totally new formations, i'm saddened that they took out the 5-3 cause i always thought that was a good formation to run against flexbone/wishbone, just because it was difficult to run the sweeps and reverses and toss's and options because you had 5 linemen with 3 backers, generally i would spread the backers out and leave the line where it is and move the secondary up.

I run the POWER SPREAD OFFENSE with the FLEXBONE (thanks Air & Bomber) to a certain degree, and found the 3-3-5 and 4-2-5 defenses to be the hardest to run on againest.
The 4-4 never really gives me fits, but the latter do.
