I play as West Virginia and I can't run the ball. They have great running back and a good O line. I don't know how to run. In madden I usually ran w/ the stick until I saw the hole and busted through it with speed burst. But evertime I do this I get a yard into the hole and get popped. Then I tried going through the holes with just the stick, and I got better results. Is this the way your supposed to hit the holes? I need someone to help explain how to run through the holes.

Use the matchup stick to find where the weakness in the defensive line is. Once I figure out which defensive linemen is low on composure, I'll look to run right at him. Also whatever you do use patience when reading your blocks. If you allow your blocks to develop you can get some nice gains, even online against other good players. Just curious, but what type of formations are you running the ball from?

I have learned to use the D-Pad, not the Analog Stick, for running. The D-Pad allows for more precise navigation through the holes.

I have been using VA Tech and the VA Tech playbook. I look for plays that have pulling linemen. When running these plays, I wait for the linemen to get out in their pull and simply follow them.

When running to the right, VA Tech has an excellent Right Tackle, I stay behind him without using speed burst. As soon as the tackle gets to the first defender, I use a quick juke move (tap R1 button) then turn on the speed.

It pays to be patient when running the ball, outside or inside. The linemen generally do a good job of creating the holes. It is up to you as the back to utilize the blocking.

I run the ball out of the I-form Ace formation and Shotgun.

I have just started to get my running game going. I have noticed that even if there is a huge hole made in the D-line if you speed burst through it the D-line will make an incredible diving tackle. If I just run through the whole my Oline holds their blocks. This also allows for juking and cutting back on LBs as well go into practice you will see. You also can navigate the holes a lot better without speed burts. Mind you if you have a pathetic slow RB this might not work. I play with Texas and use Benson.
