I really can't get an offense going for the life of me...I will occasionally put together a decent drive but I have trouble getting consistent production out of my offense.

I use Miami (OH)'s playbook currently...here are the formations that are in it

Ace Normal
Ace Y-Twins
Ace Y-Trips
Shotgun Normal
Shotgun Trips
Shotgun Bunch
Shotgun Spread
Shotgun Y-Trips
Weak Normal

Anyone have any plays that work well, specifically against Cover 2 and Cover 3 Defenses? I AM willing to switch playbooks if someone comes up with a better recommendation.

i'll have to go home and look at the plays i run, but go into practice mode and run plays using the shotty y trips formation

i'm finding my passing game is at it's best when i use this formation especially with all the drag and dig routes involved. it's by far my favorite set to pass out of.

I never had any success with that playbook, but that's just me.

speaking of playbooks. Say that a school has a certain play in a shotgun formation. If i select that formation, do I get that particular play. What I'm asking is does a school have an exclusive play that no other school can use or do the school playbooks only differ in their formations?

I'm also having a little trouble with my offense particularly in the red zone. i'm like 67% on scoring TD after I get pass the 20. I field gets so small I can't really throw without some DB or LB making an amazing contorntionistic acrobatic move. I mean Jesus I swear this DB's upper half did a complete 180 with the lower half going the other way. I can't run and I'm sure y'all know about the OL blocking. Isn't it amazing the cpu's OL can make and hold blocks when they need to but your guys can't even hold them long enough to let your back through a 5-yard wide hole.

I have switched to Oklahoma's playbook and started using Shotgun 5 Wide. I just finished a game and I had great success using it. Granted this guy wasn't great, but I finished 17-26 for 251 yards, which is much better than I have ever done. Here's the stats:

...side note...I really hate the long bombs in this game...this guy had about 160 of his 180 passing yards on them...his offense was terrible.

I had a lot of trouble w/ my offense as well. Lately I have been playing well on offense. The reason is instead of looking for money plays. I took time and went through the internet and tried to understand football passing. The key is understanding the coverage, and limiting your options. I didn't have anything to do yesterday and I live about a block away from the library so I looked a book on football. I found the book "Phil Simms ON Passing" There was about 5 pages that actually helped but what help me passing is limiting your options. Instead of trying to look at three wides one play, focus on one side of the field. Pick the side that looks like it will give you the best chance to suceed in the play. Then go through your reads. Your reads go from deep to short. Start the play, is read 1 open if not go to read 2 is read to open if not throw to dump off.

That should help your completion percention go up if you can understand what I typed. Its hard for me to explain but I did the best I could.

Hope it helps someone. :D

That's a smart move to learn about the game. Once you understand concepts as they relate to offense and defense, you'll be able to apply that in the game. For example it's widely known that flood routes are good at attacking cover 2. Well if you understand that concept and how to apply it you'll find the success your looking for.
