Finally....someone who has obviously played the game like the rest of us and has put the shortcomings down for everyone to read. I cut and pasted the article to EA and would hope EVERYONE that reads it do the same.

I agree with almost everything said. The game is not hard. But things that should be hard are easy and things that should be relatively easy are hard.

Thing that's really been pissing me off is when the CPU inexplicably takes control of my QB and throws interceptions at what is usually the critical point in a drive. WTF!!!!!

Then, just like every other team in '05, Navy becomes a passing powerhouse, going 9 for 11 in the fourth, including a 60 yard bomb through triple coverage. Next step: Turn off console, step away and break something less expensive, like my foot after I jam it up somebody's @#$%@*.

LOLOLOL...This part really cracked me up!!! :D You gotta love that, cause I know I've felt that way about the damn deep ball lol.

But yeah this review hit it right on the head. There are just too many flaws in this game. I absolutely can't stand the deep ball online anymore. I'm just trying to pass the time until Madden comes out by trying new offenses and stuff like that. I'm just tryin to make it as fun as possible for the next couple weeks.

There is a link at the bottom of his current review to it.
Quite a difference of opinion.
It makes me wonder how valid any review is that is posted only days after a game is released.
It would seem it actually takes weeks to fully gain an understanding of a games pros and cons.

That was a good review. I disagree about OU not being a passing team.

Yes, that was clearly a slip.

One thing I have noticed is the computer always comes up with timely fumbles. Playing as Clemson vs FSU. First play of the game I blitz and cream the QB as he throws he tosses it up it gets picked. I drive down to the 1 and my FB coughs it up. No worries I say. Second play FSU 92 yard bomb as my 94 rated CB gets torched. I'm still in it I say. I orchestrate another drive to the 1, this time my HB coughs it up. No problem, still plenty of time. End of the 1st half its 14-0, bad guys. First play of the 2nd half my 92 rated QB with maximum composure throws a pass not even in the zip code of the intended receiver pick 6. That's when I turn the game off and frighten my neighbors with a loud string of obscenities and look for something to smash. Oh well, I'll play again tommorrow, maybe the playbook can help.....

I think this is going to be the first year I purchase Madden. but i think I will rent it first and check out the boards and get the real scoop before I do.

Yeah, this will be the first year in a long time I also get Madden. I was so excited when NCAA 2005 came out, when I first put it in the PS2, I saw the new plays, defenses, I really didn't break the game down. It is still fun to play for me, I just thought NCAA 2004 is probably the best video footbabll game I have played up to date. I will definately see what Madden is like. I hope the programmers at EA pay attention to this website. I guess now I am spoiled by NCAA 2004, and expected more. I would like to see what this new wr direct snap is all about, I will admit I am curious to see it. I guess just when you see everything, someone will always find a glitch to exploit.

I loved NCAA 2004 myself, thinking it only a shade below ESPN as the best game I'd ever played (last year was the first year that I barely touched Madden). Had NCAA simply added XBox Live and HFA to the 04 engine, I would have been thrilled. They did not.

That said, I just threw in the game after two weeks of solid ESPN, and I wonder if I'm being a bit too hard. While it's true that there are some serious problems, and that the game has undeniably taken a step backwards from 04, it still manages to do some things very well. Moreover, I like the new additions- gimmicky though they may be, HFA and the matchup stick both add some personality. I think with alterations to the playbooks and a few other tweaks, those additions will help make NCAA 2006 a tremendous game.

I did wonder how he went from glorifying the game in his review 2 smashing it after playing it for who knows how long. I do think he is right on about the AI DB's swarming at the ball in the air, the incredible tips and shrinking passing lanes.

But I do think some of the changes made, Match up stick, HFA, extra cut sequences will appeal more 2 the casual gamer who might not watch CFA on ABC or have a clue about the BCS but will play this game bc of those features.

I will agree that the best line of his whoe review was...

Next step: Turn off console, step away and break something less expensive, like my foot after I jam it up somebody's @#$%@*.

That should be a sig!!!!
