How to stop the option?

I was playing FSU early today and almost every play he did was an option. I tried almost everything but i could not stop him. I was Miami. Can anyone help me stop the option? :p

blitzing the db and lb from his tendency side works well.

The option is tough, especially agains teams where you have to guard against the deep ball. I would try to use the various zone blitzes out of the 3-3-5 or 4-2-5, as they usually do a good job of putting defenders in position to make the play.

The 3-3-5 and 4-2-5 SS Double Spy plays are helpful against the option. Control the free safety and use the strafe button to get in position to take the quarterback or the pitch man.

this is what i tell everyone to heal their option woes. Simple when the QB goes into shotgun formation move your OLB right into the backfield and as soon as the ball is hiked give him a big hit!!! as long as you dont touch anybody on offense the play wont be stopped, o course you'll be flagged but it will make his composure and overall go down a lil bit if you do it twice, but if you do it 3 times a game u'll get disconnected. But yeah went ever a QB scrambles a lot i do that, once i even injuried Vince Young for Texas the first time i did it, and that was in the 4th quarter on his last possesion, boy was he pissed, usually you wont knock the qb outta the game but if you use it in the 4th quarter late, it can actually have an effect on the game, since most injury statuses are "will return soon" which is basically in 2 series'.

Arnie, I dont like ur way of thinking, but that is not playing straight at all, its pure cheating dude. I like to hear real stratgeies not ways to get cheap my opponent.

You had a good post on a blitz you found that was very helpful. But on this, I'm not flaming you, I'm just wondering what are you thinking playing like this?

That's just flat stupid....I run the Power Spread Offense and I had a guy try that strategy....what a waist of time.....I let him give me 5 yards whenever he wanted and then proceeded hang 300 yards on him... ON THE GROUND!... I only threw the ball 10 times and 5 came in the 4th qaurter when I was running up the score on him 43-10......Hello Pal! I RUN THE FOOTBALL, everytime I put 10 yards a clip on your @ss my confidence goes right back up! It doesn't take confidence to run the football....

Cheesers, what would these guys do if they had to play straight?? :D
