View Full Version : Is there any evidence that the strip button works?

It occured to me that stripping the quarterback might be a way to counter the deep bomb, or at least make it a riskier play. Only, the strip button doesn't seem to work. I know it can in theory, seeing as I played in at least one game where there was a user strip, but I've been in practice mode and setting up a situation where I have a guaranteed sack every play, and not once has the defender stripped the quarterback. I keep hammering the button, but no dice.
Anyone have any luck with this move?

Wait, I've got it. You need to hold down the black button on your entire approach. I've gotten three strips in my last six attempts. Hopefully this will be effective online- man, that could really even the odds against a chucker if you could force a significant number of turnovers behind the line of scrimmage.

It works pretty well this year, I have gotten some user strips. I also like to switch to the jump buttom to block a pass if I know I am not going to get a sack but a defensive player is in the QB's face.

I didn't even think about using the jump button, good idea, and what you are suggesting with the strip button are you controlling your man and pushing strip instead of speed burst on the rush?

It depends, if their are alot of defenders around the ball I will hit the strip button even if I am going to make the tackle myself. When I am about to sack the QB I either hit the L2 for the big hit, ( which is most of the time, or hit the strip button. I think the big hit button is better for sacking a QB, they have just as good as a chance to fumble the ball this way to. Even if I am not the controlled player with the jump button, I still press it anyway before the QB releases his throw, a Dlineman or LB might jump to swat the ball then. The jump button works best for me, when I manually blitz a LB and A db is coming off the edge, if I see I can't get a sack, I switch to the DB running in off the edge and press the jump button.

I don't know- either check the rulebook or watch the video on defensive controls.

I had 3 user strips in one game, and realized I was holdin the R2/Black button, and they defender was trying to pull the ball out instead of hitting and letting go. I
