The Big Hit

can some help me on getting in position to lay the big hit. i try to control the FS or SS whenever i play but lately i ve been getting burnt on long pass plays. can some one tell me what is the proper technique for doing the big hit when the ball is being thrown long

I normally press the x button, and allow the cpu to position the plyer. Then I use the big hit button.. It works pretty well for me.... :cool:

What are your FS and SS ratings? It might have a little to do with that as well. With Tennessee my guys are alright but not the best by far. I do the same let the comp line it up and hit the BIG HIT button. Sometimes it knocks the ball out. But sometimes they catch it any way. I have never seen the "Big Hit" acually come up on the screen when i do this though. Maybe my timing. I need it cause I need to blast those receivers that guys throw to all game long and put them out or rattle em.

my safeties usually have a tackling percentage of about 60 percent. i think EA should have left out the big hit and the swat because when the ball is up in the air you have to make a split second decision between the three, and if your a guy that likes to control the secondary then you can really get burned if you make the wrong decision. last year it seemed that the players did the big hit automatically. i use to controll the DBs but now i just control a linebacker because it seems that when i try to go for one of the three, swat,pick,or big hit i either get a pass interference or get burned so i just let the computer do it and pray that something good happens.

It is more important that u have good awareness with ur defense. I don't ply cover 2 unless I am close to the goal line. Cover 2 sucks heavily if u have speedy receivers u r up against. I just hit the X button until it gets to the plyer I want, and then I go for the big hit... sometimes the cb is in better position, and sometimes it is the Safety.. So I just keep hitting X until I get the plyer I want. :rolleyes:
