I use the 3-3-5 almost exclusively now. My only complaint with that formation is the two defensive ends should be aligned heads up over the offensive tackles. In most cases they're playing an outside shade which expands the width of the bubble in that formation.

I too use the 3-3-5, but I play a lot of zone and blitz off the corners, I'm pretty conservative in my defensive scheme and I think that catches a lot of guys by surprise.....They throw a couple of picks not expecting so much zone before they change to trying and dominate my 6 man front on the ground...or bombing it over my safeties......
Kind of wish I could create the same scheme that Stoops had with Oklahoma and now with Arizona.....(I know it is not a 3-3-5, but he had a wealth of talent to run whatever he wanted!! :D )

I LIKE THE 3-3-5, BUT BOMBERS 3-4'S DEFENSE INTO THE 3-3-5 STILL IS MY FAVORITE. THE THUNDER 2 STILL CRUSHES ANY MIDDLE RUNNING ATTACK AND GOOD PURSUED ON THE EDGE. I CANT STOP USING THAT 3-4 ENHANCED.
BOMBER DOES ALL THE 3-4 INTO THE 3-3-5 CONCEPTILLY STILL WORK THE SAME AS IN 04 AS 05?

I agree with you Trojan, that is a good run defense.

Many of the concepts work similar. As far as the scheme goes I have to deflect the credit to coaching sites and books on the 3-3-5 :).

I use them in certain situations but I find that its easy to get one on one coverage deep and if they switch to the WR they catch alot of long balls on me.

WOL I have had that problem too sometimes, but I will usually switch to the 4-3 Monster 3 enhanced, It leaves the middle open but he deep is covered pretty good and the pressure is intense on the QB with this play.
