I need help defeating my next league game opponent. Im FSU and he's Missouri. As you know Brad Smith is a fast qb. 90% of my opponent's offensive plays is scrammbling with Smith. He comes out in ACE formation with 2 TE for extra blocking. He scrammbles whatever side his opponent isnt blitzing. How do I defend this?

On defense he basically plays 4-4 with a blitz coming from each side. Should I come out in 4 wide, ace with 2 Te for extra blocking, or should I just throw streaks? Thanks for the help.

Dude , on defense I would use zone blitzes, 3-3-5 AND 4-2-5 DOUBLE SPY(MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THESE AS AUDIBLES ALSO), looke at some plays from the 3-3-5 , they are good against the ace formation. Also use blitzes that have DB's blitzing off the edge of DEnd's. With scrambling QB's I would make sure to use the 335 and 425 with the extra DB's on the field you will get extra speed on the field.

As far as offense go into practice mode and lab against his 4-4 de, see what pass play work against the 4-4.

Make sure u have the 4-2-5 cover 4 also. If u want more speed on the field. Call a dime formation and audible to the double spy that will give u more chasing speed. :D

Thanks for the tips guys. This is a big game for us as we're both undefeated and fighting for the #1 spot.

On defense, any pass ply that u throw behind the blitzing lbs will b successful. I normally use the no back formation as my bread and butter formation. They have a lot of slants that r killers to the 4-4. Cing that he plys with Missouri ur offensive line should b able to hold up. Also the shotgun spread formation is a good formation to attack the 4-4. If u r at home so much the better. Call any ply that have the receivers going out. Hot route the inside receivers on streaks. With no extra help one of the slots receivers should b open. ;)

One more attack. HB Direct. If u sprint toward the your outside receiver, u can get heavy yardage against the 4-4. Good luck, and good hunting.

I can tell you what I did to THE PUPIL last year to beat him vs his VA TEch team with Marcus Vick.

Subbed my DE's for LB's and put my outside LB's for CB's. Some say this is cheesy....but thats a whole different topic. I move my roster accordingly againest different offensive schemes.

I ran the 3-4 Spy 2 or 3 made into the "30 stack" and AB blitzed one of my CB's myself off the corner and made him throw on the run every play into my zones. The "30 stack" makes it to hard to run up the gut and it forces him to run to the outs and with zones everyone stays put and will pursue him sideline to sideline.

On 3rd and long situations always blitz one corner and one player urself, pressure is the key to beating him and I mean pressure each and every play and hit him every down!

Play mean aggressive defense, also use the Dogs Zone Blitz from the 4-2-5 and shift the line to the strong side of the offensive set. Set ur sub in out as high as possible and keep fresh feet in the game. Scambing QB's running no huddle can wear down ur defense prematurely so subbing often can keep fresh feet moving.

To relay on what KBell said and AWN said on defense, look at the 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 Double spys, I never have the need to actually use them cause the "30 Stack" always did me good, but maybe u should look into them.

What AWN was referring too is called DOWNSUBBING on field. Some leagues dont allow you to make many subbing calls on ur roster. So, picking a dime formation and audibleing down into like a 4-3, is downsubbing on the field and is completely legal.

If you like any of us can maybe do a unranked scrimmage with you and we play Missouri and see if you .
