Yeah, this was a pretty good and accurate description of what is, and what is to come by Glen Beck and crew. Pay particular attention to the African American woman who realized the "dead life" of a welfare mother. It was interesting because she echoes exactly what I have told you people on this board. She was a leech of the system, became a Christian, and worked hard to become what she is today. Socialism will depress the people into becoming Big Government children.

This is why it is a mistake to vote for people because they are simply popular, and for many because of thier skin color.

Naw, not this time. This is Obama's baby, and he and your democrat friends are the ones who are gettin' it started. You can't blame this one on Bush.
Free speech is next, no? Try and blame the fairness doctrine on bush.

You never heard me say I was happy with the bailout, becacuse I wasn't. The reality, however, is that the democrats put us into the mess we are in by "helping" the less fortunate get oans that they couldn't afford.
The liberals on the Hill are too cowardly to admit this. They want to fix their mess up, with more of the policies that are messed up.
To compare thsi bill to the one bush signed is silly. This bill is a porkulous democrat loving Christmas tree! oooopppps, I mean Winter Solace tree. ;)

Actually there are multiple things that ended up causing this mess. The repealing of the Glass-Steagal Act in the late 90s allowed investment banks to combine with commercial banks, this made fewer but bigger banks. Obviously 1 small bank failing isn't an issue, but a huge bank failing is.
The loose money policy of the Federal Reserve in 2001/2002 helped create the housing bubble, but dumping large sums of money into the economy.
The SEC not doing anything about the types of securities these banks were issuing.
Poor management of these banks obviously was one of the biggest contributors to the financial meltdown.
The list goes on. The government never forced banks to give out loans to people that couldn't afford them, all the CRA does is say you can't refuse to give a person a loan based on the location of where they live (aka Redlining), but you have to evaluate the credit worthiness of the individual.
These mortgages were given to people by the banks with the idea that they'd refinance the mortgage later on when they had better credit.
Lets say Democrats were responsible, where were the Republicans from 01-06 when they had complete control of Congress and the White House?

Well, I don't think the Bush/dem bill had doggy houses as a part of the package. No STD pork either.
Come on, this is the dems, trying to pass porky pork at the expense of the american people.
Pelosi said, if we don't pass the bill we will loose 500 million jobs a month. She said this twice.
I thought Bush was the fear-mongerer? what say you?

I think this article gives an accurate summation how the CRA started the mess, with Clinton throwing fuel on the fire.

Why do you seem to have such a difficult time blaming democrats for problems that they create? They are not perfect you know.
HEre is Bush warning about the impending crisis in 2001:

Why didn't the democrats get behind Bush on this? Why didn't the democrats formulate some legislation? I know why.
I wonder what would have happened if Congress would have tightened up the sub-prime markets....hmmmmm
"Bush hates poor people!!!" Bush doesn't want the poor to have housing!!!!!!
ECT.
Yeah, he/congress SHOULD have pushed through legislation, BUT, it doesn't mean you should convieniently forget whose ideology began and grew the key components that led to where we are today. I would think we should blame those who are responsible first, then blame those who didn't put aside the cheap shots from dems, in order to do the right thing.

I have no problem blaming democrats, but that fact of the matter is, it wasn't entirely their fault. If you sit back and see a problem and do absolutely nothing about it, you have just as much responsibility.
