Who can REALLY say they are good????

I have noticed a couple things. Someone give me their point of view. Why do folks get on these boards and online and talk so much stuff about how they can dominate and can give hella advice and when your really look at it these folks play with the BEST teams (ratings wise) on the game?

If you play with any of these teams, and this is the first tier of "you cant talk smack if you play with these teams", PANTHERS, EAGLES, PATRIOTS. If you play with those teams please, Shut the &^%(*& up. You don't need skills to play with those teams. The next tier of you can't talk smack if you play with these teams are Falcons & Vikings. I don't even need to go into it with those two.

If you look at the Top 100 folks, actually, the TOP 5 or so. They are beating ppl with the Giants, come on, or the Browns. I'm not saying they are bad teams b/c in the game, they are not. I'm just saying, you need skills to play with certain teams and NO skills to play with other teams. So the bottom line is, Panthers ballers, Eagles ballers, Patriots ballers, Falcons ballers, & Vikings ballers, IT's ALL IN THE AI, soooo SHHhssshhhhh!!!! :rolleyes:

good post just about everybody i play uses the upper teir teams and talks crap when the win not exactly hard to win when your d is in the upper 90s. I play with the giants there my favorite team win lose or draw record is 18-9 most of the games have come the "good" teams and it feels good to be those teams.

when i first got the game, I played with the redskins, but felt they were too good, Coles, Arrington and Portis, so i switched to the Seahawks, a slight downgrade, shaun alexander, Koren robinson, darrell jackson and hasselback were still pretty good, so i went to the falcons with vick and price, and now ur saying the falcons are too good? I'm considering mvoing to the saints. Is that more acceptable? I use Andy Reid's playbook, cause i like the different singleback formations. Is that cheap of me?

Pretty good posts in my opinion. Gotta clarify on the Falcons though. The Falcons aren't "too good". I played with them last year and I guess I know all the stuff you can do with them, so it makes it seem cheesy. So I don't play with them anymore. Nothing really wrong with the Falcons. Accept my humble apology on the Falcons.

Much respect to pudge, balattack, and bust for playing with the decent teams. I've been playing with the Bills and Seahawks recently. Honestly, I don't even know their ratings. I read about the Seahawks and Bills in the ESPN training camp series they were doing on their website. I thought to myself, hhhmmm. Let me just try them out. Bill offensive line is :mad: Bledsoe accuracy is :D Bledsoe release :eek: (It's like slow motion) I thought Henry AND McGahee would be faster. Other than Moulds, none of them can get of the line. It's tough so far. I gotta get used to it. Seahawks are pretty good though.

I use the Bears and the Bears only. At first I had a great record but my last 15 games have been against the Eagles, Patriots and Panthers. Now I am at .500. I think it took some people some time to find some cheese and expliot the teams.

So for an experiement I played with the eagles and went back on a different user names and played almost all them again and with the eagles I ended up 14-2 against the same opponenets that beat my Bears with a top team. So I tell you all that they are cheese cus I am not that good.

Well I use the Titans because I live in TN and I used them last year. Now that Kearse and George are gone I still use them because they are 1 of my fav teams. I noticed you left them off your list but Im guessin you think they should be on your list as well if your like everybody else that complains bout people usin good teams. What I dont understand is are you complaining because you cant compete? Do you need to play a lame team to have a better chance of winning? Your arguement sounds like the sad song of a guy who is strugglin to keep his head above water. If other peeps are using nice teams then surely you can find a nice team that you can match up with them. Suck up your pride and play ball, use your fav team and if that dont work, change to somethin that does. Do what you have to do to stay competitive. Oh yeah I almost forgot, Ill put any amount of money on the fact that you wont see these average teams bein used at the Madden Challenge tourneys. And another thing all these top ppl that use average teams online, check their aor and youll see that they play scrubs or they are livin off of freebies. Holla

The Titans are one of the best teams in the game especially on defense. Their running game suffers because now they have Antoine Smith and Chris Brown. They are and always have been my top team. The team I use this year with the Titans are the Seahawks. They aren't a great team but I can beat the Patriots, Panthers and Eagles with them. It isn't the team it's the skills, playbook and defense they people use. Some guy beat me with the Lions over the weekend. He had mad skillz. On any given day anyone can lose that's for sure. That's why my friends and I do not play with Super Bowl teams or super enhanced teams like the Vikings or Eagles. Even playoff teams can suck. Look at the Cowboys.

I play with the Eagles, not b/c of their ratings but b/c I have been a fan for over 10 years. Back to the days when R. Cunningham was there. I think this post is directed more to bandwagon riders. There are a certain group of people that just pick the best teams every year regarless of who they are. I hate the Patriots and I will never play with them no matter what. But at the same time I also pick teams according to who plays for them. Last year I used the Lions b/c my childhood and highschool friend
(Barrett Green) played for them. Now he is with the Giants and I will switch over to them. I feel ya on the talkin smack, but I think its just helps them feel better b/c they were able to win by a field goal using the Pats while I used the Beangles.

i play with the vikings for no paticular reason. maybe the main one is because it has great speed in the offense which is my philosophy in winning games.

there defense isnt that good but it is good at creating turnovers(mostly ints)
their d line is too weak and has the tendecys to allow a big run.

but even tough they have a 84 rated defense i make them look like a 99 defense since i only allow one touchdown a game and 12 points when i play with the chargers.

i started the online game playing thing in march i belive.

i started with three teams, the chargers, the vikings and the falcons(im a huge michael vick fan) and to this day i still use them.

the team i play the most online tough are the eagles and the chiefs

Hey buddy, I'm 30-8 and all I've played is the Eagles, Panthers, Patriots. All I was saying is that most of the folks that play with those teams are not die hard fans and aren't really good Madden players. If you took it personally, buddy, doesn't that tell you something. If you and let's say 50 of your other buddies are playing with any of the teams I mentioned b/c of being die hard fans then you are the exception not the rule dude. Obviously, you wouldn't be the ones I am talking about. Lets get a little more mentally tough.
Bottom line here guys is, most people play with highly rated teams to hide deficiencies and are not fans. Then they have the nerve to talk smack. That is all I am saying. If you are a fan of any of the above mentioned teams you are the exception not the rule. Get over it!!!

come on guys the rating system I think is a little overated and look how the NFL is today, any team can beat another on any givin sunday and I feel thats its somewhat the same on madden.I live in Boston so I happen to enjoy playing with the Patriots, I get poorsports pausing the game as I'm about to wrap up a win and say "56 yd fg my *** try doing that with a lower rated team" I get no credit for lining up a perfect kick, 100% acc and power.I don't recall everybody saying the Bucs from last year were the clear cut best team when the game first came out and Pats from a couple years ago were terrible to play with.I will say that I think they made Carolinas defensive line better and faster then it actually is,I know Peppers is fast but come on now have u seen how that dude can track down Qb's, rb's and sometimes wr's lol

I agree with the original poster; if you can't win with a team other than the ones rated 90+, then you're probably not very good. You probably use the same defenses over and over and let the AI do all the work for you.

I play a guy who's ranked in the top 25 who uses the Cards. When I play him, I use a similarly ranked team and the games are straight, fun and close. (Though I still lose. :()

Point is, I respect his skills much more than someone who is 35-2 using the Eagles....

i dont have a problem with people who use there fav team my problem is last night i played 5 games online Every single 1 against phila yet 4 out of 5 someone else was their fav team. My fav is the giants on the rare occassion that i dont us them I'll play wit the bengals and there not terrible but the eagles there not. If i look a someones carrer and all they play is the eagles i have no problem with that. Out of my last 10 games eagles 7 pats1 packers1 redskins 1. Does anybodys recent games look like this?

So far I'm 18-2 using the Giants basically all the time. The only time I'll change that is if I'm playing the Vikings, Panthers, Patriots...I'll use the Panthers vs. the Vikings and the Vikings vs the other 2...this isn't a rule either, as sometimes I'll still use the Giants, but when playing those teams you're almost guaranteed cheese so I wanna have a team that will be able to fight that. Against the Eagles, I gotta still use the Giants just because I hate the Eagles :)

And I'm the first to admit that my AOR isn't very high right now. As I'm working out my offense and defense, I have just been pressing Play Now and playing whoever I get matched up against.

I think there could/should be a "matchup game" option, where the visisting team can't exceed the home teams total rating by more than 5 points. My friends used this rule when we played in the 90s. Made for a variety of matchups. We'd also sometimes go through the weeks real NFL matchups. Mismatches can actually be fun, when they even out. Now I have my own family, and mostly play online. I'd love to hook up with some players who would play these scenarios.

I often put a message out to play "lower ranked teams only". Only problem there is I always end up the road team.

I like to try almost every team during the season, including the heavy weights, but if you are playing competitively, you have to have it close. Unless, of course, you are a master and can win with any team against any team, which I can not.

Good point fellaz. I'm a true Eagle fan, but I got beat up by someone who used the cards. So yeah the team helps out, but you have to have the skillz to play this game. Like dude said, if your team ain't cuttin it, use one that is. As for me, back to the lab, Eagles Falcons 4 life Holla!!!

I have used the Raiders(mostly) 49ers, cards, seahawks, rams, eagles, lions and the texans. My usual team is the raiders, who have a good defense bt the offense isnt that great leading to my 10-20 record online. look me up my ea name is gtrght420.

and if you win with a good team it doesnt mean your not good. just look at the people who use great teams but yet have sucky records. it has to do more with how you use your team which is my approach with both the chargers and the vikings

A true Philly fan wouldn't be caught dead with a picture of a Redskin by his name. I don't care who it is, I'm a die hard Cowboy fan and you can't enter my house wearing another teams garb (well maybe Chiefs stuff, cause that's my wife's team).

First of all I agree any team can beat any team on any given Sunday. Second I really don't care what team you pick because Im beating you no matter what, LOL! Last I think its sad when people won't pick their team because they arent rated good. A true fan stays with their team during the good and the bad times. O yea someone said that if you look at the top 5 players they beat teams with the giants well I'm one of them!
