On the heels of a deal cut between Pakistan and Taliban terrorists in Afghanistan, President Obama has okayed a troop buildup in Afghanistan that will almost double the present troop count there, including 8,000 Marines and another special task force with terrain-ready equipment.

Afghanistan is the war we should have always been in and finished, glad to see that Obama is taking this seriously and recognizes what a piece of crap Pakistan really is. Osama bin Laden, here we come.

Do you think the mission in Afghanistan is a winnable situation. I'm not sure???

I heard some analyist say that it could be a Vietnam-type war if we dont go in prepared with a game plan and strategy that actually work.

IMO the goal has to be to dismantle the Taliban and find and kill Osama Bin Laden (if he is still alive, which I believe he might be)...

Until we see a dead body or some other verification it would be foolish to assume he is dead imo. The rumors of his demise may be greatly exagerrated.

Supporting the troops and backing a policy to use them are 2 different things. No one has ever had a problem supporting our boys over there - they had full support from the American people before they ever left. The problem with Iraq was always the deceitful agenda used to go there in the first place.

The battle in Afghanistan is a "must" in my opinion - that's the training grounds for the ones who DID attack us (al-qaeda). There's no doubt al-qaeda and taliban work in co-hoots with each other to keep Afghanistan opressed so they can maintain their training grounds. With Pakistan being the little bytches they are lately, they can suck some tomahawk missiles too for all i care. If they (Pakistan) want to threaten us with their nuke then they better be ready to say goodbye to their entire nation & landscape as they know it. I'm sure India would love nothing better than to help us out with them too.

I don't think the deal was cut directly with the taliban. Wasn't with a guy who supposed to be more moderate, but is also the son in law of one of the taliban leaders? I'm pretty sure thats the situation. It's still kind of a shady deal. And as far as finding Bin Laden in Afghanistan, do you think he's really still there? They should be looking for him somewhere like Darfur or Chad, makes more sense. And if they caught him, what would they do? Lol, bring him back for a fair trial? I'm not saying he shouldn't be caught or anything, I'm just sayin there's a 99% chance that they "find" him dead somewhere.
