This reminds me of the beginning of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory...

On a serious note, that is some really f'ed up stuff to do. I'm going to be interested in the response of some of the other countries around there.

We are still pretty weak right now, and if things were to escalate with China or Russia getting involved we could be in for some sh-t. Right now it looks like we are coming out of a military and economic low so North Korea might just sit back and watch the show they created.

What if the North Koreans kidnapp Kyle Orton ! We would be in for some real s**t then! The secret service has to get off their lazy a$$es and protect Elvis Grbac (special LOL to ThaSpecialist) NOW!!!

They launched it because they know no one is going to do ish about it. Think about it, it's not like they actually aimed it at another country's territory. Sure it's some provocative ish, but that's about it. Only thing you can do is hit them with more sanctions. If we attack them for this test or anyone else, then who's the real bully? We all have seen how that preemptive attack on Iraq has gone.

North Korea is all show. If they sell their missles to Iran, then that's a bigger threat IMO, well ateast to Israel. That might then be grounds for a preemptive attack on Iran.

I'm interested to see how "diplomatic" these other powerful countries are when things like this happen. I can't figure out why North Korea is even allowed to think they're the cock of the walk.

It's easy to cast judgment on another country when nothing big has happened to yours (lately).

i dont see the issue... if this was a U.S. test missle it wouldnt have made the news. once missles start coming towards us, then id make move, until then i could care less

Sanctions don't work they usually end up hurting the very people thay are trying to help especially Economic sanctions. Think about it malnutrition among children and not being able to get the proper medical care, so in essence we are trying to punish a government that doesn't care to begin with. So the people are left to suffer through our sanctions.

I will agree with Obama in the fact that not talking to other countries doesn't work there has to be diplomacy with talks that are firm and resolute. Of course being strung out in Iraq and Afghanistan does not help.

You don't see an issue because you don't live in Japan or because it's just not a big deal?

Regardless, no one wants a country with an insane despot firing missles overhead.

Korea is hurting for money and Iran has it. WWIII will start by Isreal attacking Iran and going after N.Korea, dragging in China and Russia. IMO.

And it that scenario we would be dragged in by Isreal and probably be on the losing side.

Don't worry I will, and I will enjoy living in this country every single day.

Finally, the post that needed to be said.

Bottom Line...

Kim Jong Il is an absolute nut case who has suppressed his people for years by the hand of government.

Allowing them "nuclear" (key word) weapons is a threat to everyone.

Remember...no one USES nuclear weapons. Do you honestly think that countries like N. Korea/Iran/Syria/Saudi Arabia would abide by those principles seeing as...gee, I don't know...they allow state-sponsored terrorism?

Those countries have more significant problems than nuclear weapons/nuclear energy programs to deal with. Their prognosis to their own problems are lunatic and a threat to everyone.

I'm actually giving a speech this week about this recent event and I'm stringing it into Iran and North Korea trying to gain nuclear capabilities and how them achieving such technology would put the world in imminent danger.

How would that put the WORLD in imminent danger.

Plus, N.Korea already has the technological know how.
