Why we have so many temples and visit them, if God is everywhere? A wise man said: Air is everywhere, but we still need a fan to make us feel it !

I am an athiest, my opinion is you have had a few drinks... and that since there is a sports bar, and old folks home, and a town hall ... there should also be a church ... so all the drunken life questioners can have a place to make threads :D

I would imagine specific locations for worshipping god came about with the difference between immanent and transcendent images of deity. Among those who believe in an immanent god, the need for temples is less great. Among those who believe in a transcendent god, the need is greater.
I would also imagine that ever since ancient Man began burying their dead, the concept of a sacred space was born. Among Polynesian islanders, the concept of mana came about. They explained sacred space as places where mana came to rest. Therefore, those locations contained higher concentrations of mana. There are similar concepts among AmerIndians who believe in wakan and even indigenous African religion that calls it ashe.
From a phenomenological point of view, Judeo-Christian tradition establishes a sacred meeting place because they were told to by God.
After all, it would only make sense to designate specific areas for specific purposes. You don't s*** where you eat do you? ;)
