So I have MPB and I've shaved my head for over 10 years now. I figure I should just give in and accept baldness. But now I want to grow a beard. And beards and bic'ed heads don't really match. So for a month I haven't touched a hair. The beard can stay if I can figure out some haircut that goes alright with my bald spot and receding hairline.
Only one rule--NO COMBOVERS! Any ideas?

Thats what I did. Used to have long a*s dreads but I shaved them off when I was like 22. I'm now 30. Been bald ever since.

Can you grow the beard long enough to comb it over the top of your head ? It would start a new craze ! Do it ! You might have to grow it out like some kind of ZZ top type stuff, so it will take a few years, but most great ideas do ! :D

I've had a baldy and a goatee for 7 years now. After my pops passed I said I would keep my beard in his memory. So it's always the L-bar beard and baldy

Try No. 1 or 1.5 on top, faded into a .5 or 0 on sides and back. It'll give you at least a sense of style. If you have a tan, you're gold. I started thinning a little on top a couple years ago (I'm 27). I started rocking a 2 faded into a .5 and it's not even detectable.

Bald and beard can match, just rock the stache and goatee combo.

I need to start posting in the old folks forum more often. The title of this thread may be one of the funniest ever. Some great suggestions on hair styles too.

Reverse mohawk.
Shaved in the middle, and as high as possible on the sides.

go with the gotee and bald head. It's the standard for black dudes. Try to pull it off.

i haven't shaved my beard in about 2 months. I havent shaved my goatee since my mom passed away in August, so I'm looking a bit like Drew Gooden right now. Truthfully I look just like my pops did when he was my age in the late 70's.

I got the bear with bald going on, my wife wouldn't have it any other ways. Also the shorties love it. I usually rock the goatee or the thin beard, but recently with the cold, I rock the full beard.

lev speaks the trugh... 1.5 or 2 on top with a 1 or 0 on the sides and a nice fade. if your only bald in the back you can even fade from the back forward and stay longer up front.
but bottom line, if your thinning, the shorter the better on the hair.
the tan point is also right on... if your head is white the bald spots stand out more

This question depends strongly on two things;
1 Beard Thickness (facial coverage areas..)
Baron Davis -full on MANBEARD-
Or;
Jokim Noah-a few sparce whiskers about his chin ad upper lip.
and
2 your Facial Shape.
1 bit of advise is be creative with your Soul Patch (just below your lower lip but no quite the chin.) if you have a thicker beard you can do some nice styles for your Soul Patch.
if your face is more round, may wanna go with a thin (higher maintenance) combination or either thin/shaped goat, or stash; thin handle bar.
try a chin strap, -Stash & S.Patch optional-
or
if you have thicker beard a Chop strap.
try a wolverine look, thick side growth, thin under the lip..
see if your face/hair growth areas can mock the styles you want to emulate and try them, if they look good try em a few days... if you dont like, you can always grow it back right..start over again with full and cut trim shave your desired look in.
my skin is super sensative, so I just trim around the edges where its stops being thick (well as thick as my beard gets) and gro my goat UBER long like 2" Goat.. (no stash. .5 inch S.Patch) then I trim the side burns in the cooler/hotter months, but always rock my goat.
I have since grown hair, but these styles held me over when I kept my wig as my wrinkly bald head..
