The Democrats are setting themselves up to challenge Dick Cheney on the new claims that he told the CIA not to tell congress about their Assassination squad plans. I think this would be a horrible idea. People forget that no matter what he does there are a lot of peoplet that will rally behind Cheney. He will say he was doing it in the best interests of the US in the fight on terror. It may boost his following and help the GOP paint the Dems as weak on national security issues.

I say let this go, especially when it never even got going yet. It could rally the conservative base behind Cheney. Let the crazies lie I say.

If it comes out that the US was a partner in anything that brought about murder, then it needs to be pursued. We were fully aware, apparently, that some of our proxies were going way beyond the boundaries for interrogation that we laid down. One guy was beaten to death with a baseball bat. That is the only one being pursued already.

I believe in letting the past be the past, but there is no statute of limitations on murder regardless of who it involves.

Even if we did it half the country would be ok with it because of "Terror".

It will just turn into a namecalling mess and nothing will get done. Its not like they would arrest him anyways.
