Online Play is becoming impossible cause of the FG/PB glitch

I have had it used like 4x on me they past 2 days on the Xbox.. Max punt get rid of the ball helps on punts.. Field goals I don't know.. Its like this has taken over the game on the Xbox.. Any counters would be appreciated..

Ive never seen it yet, but before I knew there was a glitch, my friend told me about how it happened to him and he didnt know what it was. What are they doing and is there a way to recognize it before they do it so you can counter it?

best wat 2 counter it is..when u press x 4 power..then x 4 accuracy..hold it the 2nd time..and wait 4 them 2 go offsides..and then kick it..

I think eaglefan36 is on to something here. I noticed when I first was playing the game that you can hold X after the second time for accuracy and it will not kick it till you let go. I think this may work. Try it in practice.

that only works in practice.. when you hold the button down it does not stay.. explain this in detail please .

It will not work in online play that I know of...in regular games, you can hold X after you press it the second time for as long as you want, but online they don't have it because that would be really easy to use as a stall glitch.

I know what you mean, this kid did this to me and chuckled the whole time. I told him to stop and he just said make me. The only thing to do is do not play him. His name is plaYA04 Do not play him. I looked at his career and he has beaten some of the better ranked players doing this. You can tell because the score is weird as he always blocks extra point kicks along with punts. I tried max protect, nothing works. He uses washington and I think calls a FG block aud when Coles is in to return and then uses Coles to block everything.

anota way i try it..is press cirlce alot..hope 2 get some1 off sides..but i mean if u dont..i also tried kicking the ball as fast as i can...i mean..i did neva try the holding it the 2nd time online..on the count is any1 tat trys 2 glitch on me..i just try 2 stall as long as i can..and hope they get bored..heh

There is a remedy. Pull the ethernet cord while he is doing it. It will throw off the timing.

Since I posted that I had not had this glitch happen to me yet........well 2 out of my last 3 games online.........people have pulled this crap.......... once a punt block right before half........that cost me a chance to get back in the game and then a couple XP glitches.................. It is getting bad online now. Everyone is starting to pull this crap.

I really think the only way to stop it is to call max protect hurry your guys to the line and kick right off before they have time to manuver their guys. I call the play if they start shifting then take a delay of game and come out pressing A (X on the ps2) and hurrying to the line and kicking ASAP.. Maybe if we go into the Punt formations and put the best blockers on that side it will help..

Thanks for the feedback. After this happened to me I stayed in Max protection on punts the rest of the game and he did not block anymore punts. I don't think he tried again because I had told him that was a cheap move and that he was cheating.

It seems that max protection may help with this somewhat.

The guy did it to me even in max protect. It was like he was there with coles running around the max protect before the kicker had a chance. I havnt tried to hurry on this yet, or put best blocker in those max protect positions.

here's the trick to beating this... first u need to find if the person actually does this, we'll assume he does for the sake of making this point.

Even with Fair Play settings "On", u can no-huddle back to the line. Default Audibles have Punt with R1, if you took it out, put it back. Audible to punt and have your QB punt it - it may not go too far, about 30-40 if u hit it right (the meter will be fast...lol) - but it's better than having the punter blocked.

That's not true. After the third down play, it will not allow you to no huddle. It will take you to the play calling screens. So this is not a reliable fix.

This is what is strating to get posted on the Xbox forums;

"I played a guy last night (GT:UncurledDEATH) that was blocking my punt all game. He tackled my punter 3 times. I was on my 40 with 30 seconds left and I was up three...he only had one timeout. And I go to punt cause it won't let me go for it because of 'Fair Play', so of course I have to punt. As ironic as it is, he tackles my punter again. I'm all for 'Fair Play' but not for people finding ways to tackle your punter just so they can get their precious win. Seriously, this is the second night in a row someone has won a game on me because of a blocked punt or fg. If I end up playing a guy that does that again, I'm just gonna let him run up the score on me and offer mercy cause it's not worth my time playing jack@sses like that. If they want a win that bad then i'll gladly hand it over if they are gonna find ways to cheat like that."

Come ON there must be a stop.. if there isn't then its time to quit this game until next year.. that SUCKS..

NuttzHere005 This guy is ranked 46, this is one reason why I dont play rankers, I only did this time because I used the play now feature.

This glitched me ALL freaking game. Blocked ALL my punt and FG attempt, did the formation glitch whatever you call it. I am not crying about the loss its just if we play this guys and report the suckers for cheating I figure that is how you counter them is by getting their account suspended. :cool:

yea, u CAN no huddle after 3rd dwon, u just have to be quick bro... think ahead of time and do it before the opponent sneds it back to the playcalling screen.

as for FG/EPs. i've never had one blocked so I don't know about that one..as soonas i see it, i'm syre i'll come up with a way around it.... lol

btw, i managed to get off a 48 yd punt with micheal vick in a Quick Tourney today by no huddling on 3rd down against someone using the FG block on punts.... too bad it rolled out of bounds or it would have wnet another 10 yards or so... lol

its true you can no huddle after third down, but all ur opponent has to do is call a time out. so i guess that means he can block three per half, then ur ok. except you may be down 42-0 by then

If its third and very long (lets say over 10 and your on your side of the field) just let him pick his play first then pick Punt and just kick it over his defenders head, usually they will think "wtf he wont punt it " so they dont have anyone go back to field it... if that doesnt work go to www.maddenmania.com do 3 tryout games over their and you'll only play straight people.

AS for EP make FG in your Audibles come out in goalline to sell the 2 point try then audible to FG its plenty makeable, For long FGs it might be tougher punt your Kicker at Punter so you can hit long FGs and your punts are as bad as your FGs would be with a Punter @ kicker... then come out in punt hope he changes his play to block the punt then audible to FG...

Try these out and post on how they worked out for you...

thats pretty crafty, but i dont think fair play rules allow one to come out in anything other than xtra point formation,unless ur losing in 4th qtr

That stuff is so cheezy. For extra points, just hit the x button once, then do NOT hit it again. Your opponent will come offsides when he tries to block. If he doesn't block, you should still make the xp. On punts the same trick applies, but you will only punt the ball about thirty five yards. On FG's, you can do the same thing, but if they don't jump offside, youhave no chance of making the FG, but if its fourth and five or less, then you'll get the first down.

im gonna be a bit of a smart *** here and say the only way to avoid blocked punts is to convert on 3rd down. Seriously though it is pretty gay. I have had it done only a couple of times to me. I guess i am real lucky.
