im excited to go also. i dont have alot of enthusiasm for the game, but im psyched to finally have a legit online franchise mode.

as far as rules, doesnt seem like we need much there

exactly... im sure alot fo people who signed up either didnt buy it after playing the demo or already traded it in. we should be able to get 28-32 teams still. we need to get going while interest is at a peak

JJ, you really think we need a minimum of 28? If it is anything like NCAA we can fill teams later as people step up to the plate. True, the CPU teams will be filled by CPU drafted players (and they will still do a better job than I will LOL) so someone will inherit a CPU based team. But, that won't necesarilly be bad.
I would suggest we get 16 teams set up and rock solid. That means that at least half the league is human controlled so even if no one else shows up we should still be playing humans at least half the time.

you cant have that many CPU teams... then you can end up with a situation where i play a cpu team 3 weeks and am 3-0 and someone else had to play 3 real owners and is like 1-2. it simply isnt fair as not everyone is playing real owners.

And if I can get better return value for the game by not activating online franchise mode (I don't know if somebody else could do an online franchise on their ps3 if I already activated mine) then I'm not activating till we have dedicated people.

only 1 person can use the code, so if you activate it, no one else can use it.

I agree with what he is saying though, I dont want to play in a 1/2 full league either. We should be able to get a full league with the game just releasing. It is just going to take some time and work to get it going.

If I'm gonna play the game it's either gonna be regular online, or in a league where people are committed. It's a waste of time otherwise.

I made a post during the lull awhile back to remind people about it and barely anybody responded. Somebody has to say something now to determine if anybody gives a crap.

agree... plus the game is trash, so we really need 32 owners a good franchise enviornment to make the experience fun for every...

just look at last years ps3 league, we had a ton of committed guys and even then it died after 6 weeks cause the game was so bad...

now that there is online franchise that should help.. but we need to start early and get 28+ owners

I mean we can really revamp our teams to make sure that human v. human is maximized. For instance, if we have 24 teams, we could fully fill 6 divisions with human controlled teams. Then we have 2 divisions completely controlled by CPU teams. Yes, two divisions will end up playing the CPU more than the rest of us, but just put crappy people like me in those divisions. The key is that if you have two divisions of all CPU teams, that would minimize to a certain extent the CPU factor.

So you are saying we cannot assign people to teams after the season starts?

If that is true then forget everything I said and I would agree we need at least 28.

Does anyone know how the draft engine is set up? I was messing with my draft board last night and I started pre-ranking guys when I got a rather sinking feeling. Last year, although we all complained about it, you would pick your primary position, and an alternate position, each round and the CPU would draft based on your preference. This year, you can actually pre-select a player. Does anyone have any info as to how the game handles this? For instance, let's say I want a QB in the first round. Do I have to make QBs my preferred picks 1-32 to guarantee I get a QB in the first round. And if you do that, won't the game perhaps draft too many QBs for someone if they have their Top 32 picks listed as QBs.

I would not set up my draft board like that, mind you. But it is something to think about for people who are not going to be able to do a live draft for one reason or another.

Or, perhaps I am just thinking too much (yes, it has been known to happen from time to time LOL)
