I have had major success with the Zone Blitz of the 3-3-5. It is truly a work of art. I have had success against the option, and the Spread shotgun. It gives good protection against the short and long ball. Of course quick outs gets u in trouble bcause of the ends falling back in coverage. But if they r forcing people to work their way down the field, then all the better... ;)

I'll be honest.. I had a hard time getting the quirks down on the 3-3-5 even though I love this defense. I just didn't have the combo's and blitzes I felt comfortable with.

But after the CPU Va Tech BLASTED my poor little Hofstra team for 40 points when I played my traditional goaline all or nothing defense, I switched them to the 3-3-5. Now I have the blitzes and calls I feel comfortable with and am finally able to stop the CPU when playing some of the big boys!

One thing I've found that is a lot of fun is to call against the CPU is Quarters ... and blitz the weakside Safety/Rover/LB (whatever you call that strong safety that lines up like a line backer).. I still have a good defense(actually a 1/4 1/4 halve defense that can shut down the strongside passing attack) while giving me a good speed rusher off the edge.

The 3-3-5 is a ton of FUN!!! Probably the best addition to the game this year!

I usually only play the 3-3-5 defense. I also like using the 3-4 to get into some odd stack alignments.

I like to stack the blitzing lb's behind the DE that drop into coverage in the zone blitz. Plus the filmroom 3-3-5 mlb blitz is also a sweet play.
