biggest differences from a long time PS2 guy:
-controller layout. get used to the new button layout. this was a tough transition with R2 being speedburst now
-scale back the defensive setups. playmakering defenders takes much longer now on the PS3 because you need to hit 'X' then analog to playmaker. so count on 2 adjustments for most plays.
-deep lob isnt there in 1 on 1 situations with no safety help. you can hit it if you user catch, but the days of moss beating a scrub CB 1 on 1 where you can lead him with a deep lob are over... look for deep comebacks or ins to exploint 1 on 1 coverage
-front 4 pressure not very effective. dont count on pass rushing ends to get any kind of push. you cang et alot of pressure, but your going to need to commit LB and/or safties
-players move like robots. by that i mean you cant really round out cuts and corners. so taking a good angle on tackles is key. you can only move in 8 directions, up, down, left, right, right/up, right/down, left/down, left/up. so if you take a wrong angle you have to then turn 2 more times cause you cant round it out to correct your course.

thanks jersey j....i have noticed some of those diffrences! Man...the game play just feels wierd.....since the playbooks are so huge, generally, do you pick out a couple of plays and run those pending on down and distance? Seems like you would forever be labbing trying to get the timing down...any suggestions on how best to get my "feet wet" with madden on ps3?

there arent any more plays on the NG playbooks then the CG playbooks for the most part. the layout just makes it seem that way compared to the CG play call screen and the NG has less formations but more plays per formation.
im still running the same offense i have since 05. so i dont really lab offense much...
but if your overwhelmed by the play the trick i always used was to play a few online games using only 1 formation, dont worry about losing, then go to the next and so on until you know all the plays you like well and go from there

Great suggestion jersey. That's what I've just started to do. I run plays out of the I form set only. This gives me the oppurtunity to learn the plays I like and are comfortable with. Also helps with timing greatly. Good stuff guys.
