As most pepole on here i am a long time madden gamer trying to adjust to this years version, particularly the PB( pissed they got rid of the SEA PB i have been running with for years and had mastered). I have been trying the common ones like ATL, Philly, AZ but i just had a game as the cowboys using the Dolphins book and it was dirty.

The guy wasnt very good but it seemed to have decent potential when using the subs to slip in your qb for the play action or if you have pat white or micheal robinson type guy you can really keep them guessing. Just wondered who else has been testing it out to see if it is worthy of choosing that playbook because outside of that i just used basic stick skills and madden experience to beat the kid on obvious passing downs.

Particularly looking to guys like michuara and jerseyjay who even though i just joined seem to be the go to offensive minds around the boards but would love to hear from anyone else who has been running it.

it's good for certain situations but to place your whole offense of it would kill you in the long run. If your looking for a PB I'm hearing that the Pitt book is good again this year....btw I'm not saying dont use the Miami PB I just think you need to have expand your PB and build a couple more schemes that way you arn't predictable because top players will shut down the Wildcat like Bmore did :p

Yes and no. I think you would be able to go Wildcat most of the game with the MIA book if not for one thing, injuries. If you use it too much, you really run the risk of injuring the guy taking the snap (especially given how stamina is done this year). And once he gets hurt, a smart player will likely not respect the pass nearly as much.

If you don't have someone who can throw, I wouldn't try it. And if you are going to run the Wildcat, make sure you know how to set up the option pitch.

jerseyjay didn't even know how to set his custom audibles until very recently...so I wouldn't take his advice quite yet for this years game. Maybe before he was an offensive mind, but not yet. And don't let the 20K posts of his fool you ;)

Thank you for the quick replies, the stamina was a concern of mine as after using it on consecutive plays all my players where gassed(red). I had alot of succes with pitching the ball also is why i asked, he was very predictable with spreading his line and linebackers and using outside blitzes which played into right into my hands setting up the player recieving the pitch for a big play.

Im just looking for alternatives to Gun, outside of the wildcat i havent had and noteable succes running the ball because of the awful blocking and increased defnsive AI and for the last few years i spent every snap of every game in singleback( except to hit a few money plays of of near and far) and havent been able to find a book that allows me to play the same this year.

In 06 when i used the minnesota playbook i would work shotty tights primarily the whole game until my opponent was forced to flood the feild with quarter dbs and now that qb scrambling is incredibly hard im not sure how to cope i donbt i would be able to employ a similar pass first second and third down strategy this year.
