I've never won one against the computer ... and it's worse because the button I have to press is different... I'm poundin' the O button.. then I look up and I'm supposed to be pushing the Square button...

You can turn it off for offline but you're stuck with it for on-line.

Go to OS and complain who knows might work.

Well, shame on me then Gibbs. I can't be mad at a new feature they have that isn't glitched. most of the time when Madden adds a new feature, it becomes over effective. When the cone was first introduced, the high pass came about and Courtney Anderson became a better Madden player than Moss that year.....

I just played a guy where I hitsticked Witten and he fumbled. The other guy clearly recovers it with Austin. Not one of my guys is within 5 yards of him and it goes into the "Fight for the Fumble" minigame where I somehow win the ball back. I kinda felt bad for the guy.

The problem is that a fumble is a huge play, and to award the ball to who ever presses buttons faster is insane!

What football strategy is that? How irritating is it to see YOUR guy clearly jump on the ball first, but then somehow the other guy gets it because he's faster on the buttons than you are.

This isn't fcking Pro-Wresling, I've done my button mashing on the NES long ago, I don't want to see it back now and certainly NOT in a football game!!

Hat is easily the worst feature ever. Especially when u consider the fact that there are entire quarters where you might not even have an offensive possession b/c of how fast the clock runs.

Also, if ur motto is going to be "if it's in the game, it's in the game" then where did this come from? I've never seen a head coach take off his headset and start mashing the fumble recovery button in the NFL. True enough it's fair b/c there's no advantage to either player but I'd much rather have that feature be removed than left in the game.

Yea, that was completely stolen from Tecmo Bowl. But in Tecmo Bowl (circa 1990) developers somehow had the thought that if any other defenders got involved it would aid in tackling the ball carrier. Go figure.:rolleyes:

I actually REALLY like this feature. Whoever jumps on the ball first gets the meter on their side to start. I've won about 90% of mine so i'm not complaining.

First... Just because you press the buttons faster doesn't mean you're going to win the fight. It's based on the strengths of the players in the fight. If your punter is fighting a defensive end, you're NOT GONNA WIN. Of course, most of us are too busy trying to see which button is pressed to see WHO is in the pile.

Second, nobody complains about this feature when they WIN the fight. Go ahead. Look around. It's only the worst feature ever when people LOSE the fight.

Lastly, Fighting for fumbles is core to football. It happens every time the ball is under a pile up. Much like gang tackling, this feature isn't a silly gimmick (like QB Vision) that puts something unrealistic in the game just for the sake of calling it innovation. People actually do fight for fumbles.

Might be true, but I've only ever one or two of them. I'm sure I wouldn't mind it if I was great at pushing buttons quickly. But I'm not.
