i have the 5th pick... would like to know what options i have. sourdiesel, moneymo, stick, and djkianoosh you guys are before me, what position you thinking?

im hoping 1 of the following 4 make it to me:

Calvin johnson, Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall. you guys all going WR?

I think you'll get one of them, a couple of guys will go defense or QB, I'm sure.

As for me, at 12th pick it just depends who's left really.

yeah, im hoping thats the case... but i know stick will nab a bigtime WR and probably sour as well. im hoping everyone goes defense early... its alot deeper then offense, and not as big a drop off from the top guys to secondary guys

Yeah, but contrary to the popular opinion, I see a world of difference between shabby DBs and good ones. Well, unless Patrick Willis slips to 12, which I seriously doubt.

That will be a focus for me, as being forced to blitz constantly b/c of shabby coverage is never fun.

We playing on All Madden, correct?

heh, if it was all pro, I'd probably go front seven....since no one tries to stop the run.

I've always been more of a defensive minded guy. Moving the ball I take for granted. (Especially since this year's game is a bit offense happy)

Really? see for me its the opposite, CBs all seem to cover the same, so ill probably just wait til late in the draft and go with over the hill vets or scrubby young guys with speed.

LB is a different story, there are only so many that can actually cover. same with safety. offensively you need playmakers. im definetly going offense with 2 of my first 3 picks, unless someone like willis or whomever falls

Yeah, I guess it depends on how much man you play.

I agree that S> CB, though.

I was thinking S anyways. You're right, LBs do make a world of difference, so I won't be forgetting them either..

Seems like this year every position has a decent impact. I will probably pick the best player available out of S, MLB, and CB, Unless a dominant offensive player has fallen to me.

yeah for me safety is bigger too, especially with a majority of passes being over the middle.

i still think its about offensive playmakers. your getting your moneys with with an adrian peterson or larry fitzgerald. you can say stuff like "ehh anyone can catch" but its nice when you throw a 5 yard slant and fitz breaks the tackle and goes 85 yards for the score.

or when AP trucks 16 guys

Yeah, no argument there. If either slips to 12, I'll be happy to take them.

I figure I have a better chance of a good DB dropping to me though.

With good playcalling, its still possible to move the ball with scrubs. On defense, if they're bad, there isn't as much you can do.

Meh, just my opinion though.

i kind of feel the opposite... on defense you can cover up for talent with scheme. i mean it doesnt take 99 awareness to play a hook zone or contain rush. offensively if your guys cant catch, get open, or break tackles... well.... anyone can play a hook zone, or stay close to a WR in man, but few guys are trucking your DT then carrying your entire LB corps into the endzone like AP

as far as CB's, im not sure why but it seems from talking to people this is the position everyone is drafting. Asamouga isnt making it past #4 and a few others i talked to all said CB first... so looks like you are right there

works for me, as CB has low value for me... if i can get some good OLBs to drop to me in round 2/3 that would work out nice

Heh, I guess we're just polar opposites scheme wise.

well thats what makes drafts so fun! the twists, turns, suprises, runs on guys that piss you off, runs on positions that make you pump your fist...etc... i cant wait.

The 49er War Room is on lock down, especially since i think there's gonna be a reshuffle of the draft order once DJ hits the button .... i could be wrong, but top secret information such as this cannot be leaked, just in case :)

lol.. i agree.. any information at this point might be disinformation ;-) don't trust anybody! LOL

as for re-shuffling. I dont think so. I think the draft order that shows up online is the actual thing. I ran a test league a couple weeks back and I think that's how it was.. could be wrong though since I wasn't really looking for that specifically. I just wanted to see the pick timer options at that point.

a reschuffle would be nice... i hate picking top 10... sure you get a good player but you dont pick again for like a month

i love 28-32 area

I honestly could care less about of offense tbh. I would get Moss like I usually do but me and Moss on the same team equals unfair to the rest of the league. I'll probably go with Nnamdi since the guy could pretty much shut down all the WR's in the game and he helps me sleep better at night lol. Safeties are overrated imo, I user them 90% of the time so I'll be happy with a scrubs with speed tbh. QB overrated as well, Give me Jamarcus Russell and I'll be happy. The accuracy ratings matter somewhat this year, but I got Russell's accuracy sensitivity down for the most part. My # 1 rated QB is Jay Cutler, with Joe Flacco # 2. All I care about is arm strength and a little mobility. The only other guy that interest me is P Willis, dude's a monster and I could just leave him alone.

My theory is basically guys I don't user and have to rely on the CPU to control them I rate higher. Everyone I user I could care less. Not to knock all the great WR's, RB's, and QB's, but I could move the ball with the scrub teams fairly easy so I have no need for AD, or Moss.

A good WR or a bad WR don't even matter this year. Larry Fitz in this game drops more passes the Braylon Edwards in real life. I dont understand how the Dlineman on Defense have better hands than WR's in this game. LOL. So I don't think I'll be going with a WR unless I pick really high and have a great one to pick. Then I will probably end up trading him anyway. HAHAA.

ihavent seen many drops... good or bad WR

but with good WR its almost unfair, even covered they make every play, and they break tackles like adrian peterson for cheap BS touchdowns

See I have the other problem, where all WR's just keep dropping passes all the time. I do agree that the break tackles are crazy though. But all I really want is a guy who can hold on to the football.

weird, what level are you playing on? capnkill said on all madden there are alot of drops

m1kethemenace

Yea I play on all-madden. I almost think its unfair how well the CPU gets pressure on all-madden. Also how the CPU D-Linemen catch the ball if it is near them alot as well. But I'm not gonna play on a lower level either. Its just some things I've noticed on All-Madden thats all.

Yeah AM has its issues, but still much more fun than AP.

I hate how the AI goes nuts if its down late, those 2 minute drills are nothing but perfect reads, even after shutting the QB down the rest of the game. I feel like I need to build a lead just to deal with the crazy comeback that's going to come.

On the drops, there are a lot....you really have to throw softer, and only if they are not in traffic on AM.

It still happens too much though.

yeah, on all-pro there are FAR fewer drops... so you want have that issue in this league

i dont think there is an option for skill level, i think we are forced to play all pro.

we are also forced to play at slow speed

it's all-madden because NGML last year was always all-madden.

with the all man setting thats actually a very good strategy. on all madden CB/WR doesnt matter much because of all the drops...

its more about running the ball and trick type players (screens, quick high fades, etc...)

Why are we playing on slow speed? What speed is madden set at when you play a normal online game?

Why are we playing on slow speed? What speed is madden set at when you play a normal online game?

they changed the online speed to slow for all modes a few days ago. so we have no choice

the default online speed was normal, now its slow.
