what does it do? its the X button on the PS3.

Its a universal kind of button. Say your opponent lobs a ball up, it'll either swat or catch the ball depending on the position. Idk that much

This is one aspect of the game that kinda bothers me. I miss the element on the PS2 in regards to timing catches, picks and swats. It seems like all you have to do is after the football leaves the QBs hands is hold onto that L1 button or triangle. In the CG versions it wasnt that simple.

so it basically a noob feature?


i could have sworn it has to do with tackling for when u do the madden test they make u press the X button

I know it does what I said earlier. I think it tackles too. It doesn't matter since you'll tackle them just by running into them.

Yes its a noob button. Its nothing you need to use.

X button is for Gang tackle.....

it is not that hard to figure out ( well for you non-gamers Probably is)

so when on D you have your Offensive player wrapped up and you press X more players come over- also when the AI has the offensive player wrapped up that is how you jump on.

On offense, if you are wrapped up and your budd is playing with you on co-op you can press x to knock players off your guy.


and dont llisten to that one dude whosays it is used for lob passing deflects, wonder how many wins that guy has..... x does nothing for pass defense, that is Triangle or L1

Haha your hilarious. Im a Level 11 and im 39-15.

All I know is when I'm covering the deep ball and I hit X to swat (i forgot they changed it to L1. Im used to hitting X.), sometimes it swats, and sometimes it goes for the catch.
