Another RNG Q for ncaa '02 and '03

AirRaid, I think it was you who wrote that you used the RNG in those games. I never used that type of offense in '02/'03. I'm kind of curious about how well they would work. So I tried it with little success. B/c of the limited audibles, I'm not able to run the offense like I want to. In case you're wondering why I'm still messing around with those games, I guess just want to see if I can dominate in those games. What hot routes or combos did you use to run your offense?

Yeah-- it was me who ran that type of offense in 02 and 03 (although, by the end of 03 I was an option guy....)

....It is true that you can't run the R-N-S like COG described in his post in 02 or 03 becuase of the simple fact that you can't Hot Route to a slant.....However, I used more of a R-N-S mentality...If there was 5 in the Box I ran, If there was 6 in the Box I passed type of thing.....and eventhough you couldn't create routes like slide and switch, there were routes which you could create like Go and Smash (by motioning people, etc..)....but you are right, there really wasn't a good way to recreate the actual Run and Shoot from top to bottom....but passing the ball in 02 and 03 was FUN and I ran my whole offense from 4-wide sets......but like I said, because of the inability to create the R-N-S I became a bigtime Option guy that liked to grind it out and eat up the clock....that is really why I'm a Power Spread guy now, if gives me the look of a Run and Shoot team, but with the ability to control the ball, the game and the clock with the ability to run the ball.......

Thanks for your response! You mentioned the go and smash(hitch?) routes. How did you successfully use them? What SG formations/plays did you use?
