What PB would you guys recommend for me? The raiders have always been my primary team, but I do like to mix it up a lot... lately I've been playing as the falcons too.

I'm just starting to get into madden 10, in 09 I used the 46 95% of the time. In 10 I'm pretty bad at D and I'm just trying to get a PB to start.

I like the Jets PB. It has the 3-4 (multiple formations) and the 46 Normal.
The Nickel 1-5-5 is good too. Give it a shot and see what you think.
I feel I can stop the run better w/ the 3-4 rather than the 4-3.

I started running NYJ from my first game and doubt i will switch until madden 11.

3-4 Normal cover 2 or 2 Man Under are good to start with.
3-4 Over is good to blitz from. (WEAK BLITZ)
3-4 Predator is good if you have a fast ROLB. Every play except MLB Cross Fire 3 and Drop Zone have him blitzing.
3-4 Solid is good to blitz up the middle and can stop the run up the gut. I would use this formation if you think the offense is throwing quick passes to the outside i.e. flats.
3-4 Stack is similar to the 4-3 w/ 4 defenders on the LOS. This is a good formation to blitz from the outside. I wouldn't use this formation to protect against the deep pass.
46 Normal, similar to the 4-3 but there is an extra safety up close to help on run support. Like the 3-4 Stack I wouldn't use this for deep passing defense. There is a 46 thread that would help more on this formation. http://www.maddentips.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128224
Dime Normal, good against 4 or more WRs. Not good against the run.
Dollar Normal, is good to stop the deep pass, long yardage situations. Works good in the red zone, covers the field nicely.
Nickel 1-5-5 nice combination of run and pass defense. Also has good blitzes (i.e. inside zone blitz).
Nickel 3-3-5 works well against the run and short pass.
Nickel Normal, works well against 3 WR sets. Extra DB (nickel back) needs to play the slot WR.
Nickel Odd Split is also good against the short passes. You can also get some good blitzes with the safety being closer to the LOS.
Quarter Normal, use this formation as a pass prevent defense. Not good against the run.
Hope this helps.

not asking for your exact audibles, but what would be a good way to set up my audibles as far as formations go?

Well I've been going with my TEXANS OFF and DEF PBs lately and as far as setting my audibles I like to have a few from each formation including coverages.
i.e.
4-3 normal cover 2 man (my conservative call, not risky and works pretty well against the run and pass as long as they have 3 or less WRs)
4-3 normal cover 2 (my pass defensive audible is there are 3 or less WRs, you can manually blitz a LB if you want added pressure)
Nickel 3-3-5 QB contain with PRESS COVERAGE, I like this one against the wildcat.
Dollar Normal cover 1 press, I like to use this as red zone defense against the pass when the Off comes out with 4 or more WRs.
I also have a punt return.
I'm still working on a good run defense audible, I'm looking into the 4-3 over and under plays but haven't found a solid one yet. Usually against the run I try and see what the tendecies are and go from there so I don't use many audibles against the run.
Hope this helps. What about you?

Thanks, I'll probably just find my best nanos out of each formation and set tthem up from there.

i usually run a d with the personnel i have...
for example with the vikings they have two beast DT's. So why run a 3-4 and take one of my better defenders out of the game to put in a sorry LB? From what I've read on here the 46 is good for the raiders cause of the speed and the good CB's.. I like to keep all my playmakers on the field and usually run a variation of what the team does in real life for the most part. So in short check out or personnel (overall rating, speed...sometimes a player with a little less overall rating might be better depending on what your want to run)
I run the Titans D with the Vikings, the 46 with the redskins, and if i play with the Ravens or Chargers either the multiple D, BAL or NYJ PB... its all what floats your boats, you can get good pressure and coverage out of every playbook, read the sticky threads and it will explain the concepts behind running a good D, then Lab it out
