Can we get a ruling on this? It's a league we don't need a bunch of pussies running the clock, if you want to play the game join the league if you want to stare at a clock then go buy one.
It's a league and completely unneccesary to have people running the clock in the 3rd quarter.

I dont see a problem with this. They can only run the clock if you cant stop them. So if you dont like the clock being run...stop them.

I see a huge problem with this. It's a LEAGUE not a tourney, not a game for money, a league game. It's also the fact that we all join for fun so if someone really wants to sit there and run the clock they are a pussy

There is acc clock so clock is almost down to 12 by the time they get to the line...make a couple of adjustments clock is down to 5. I dont see problem with it. that is some peoples game plan contol clock and run the ball. So you want to make a rule..you have to score in 2 min?? that sounds dumb.

What adjustments are you making when you're running the clock out? Pick the play, scratch your crotch, drink your water then hitting A?
Ball control and running the ball is not the same as intentionally running the clock to 1 second every time. If you do that and get 1 first down you've wasted a whole quarter which is completely unrealistic.
Did I say you had to make a rule that you have to score within 2 minutes? No, and why does it sound dumb? Because it makes no sense. What are you even talking about? When someone comes out to run the ball 3 times and run the clock to 1 second every time that is incredibly lame. In league play I see no need for it. There's no prize for winning a game and the only time it really should be done is if the game is actually for something, like at tourneys. The league is more for fun so it's just stupid for someone to play like that.

If they wait until the clock is at 1 and hike it..run it three times...stop them three times. Again people can only run clock if you let them. Get a stop. What would be your rule then??? Have to hike the ball with 10 sec on the playclock??? Have to hike it with 5 sec on playclock???

If a person is running the ball with success the clock will continue to run. If you don't pass much and don't have a lot of incompletions than the clock will run. If you continue to convert 3rd downs the clock will run. Run heavy teams should have a greater T.O.P. than a pass happy team. It's two styles of play. I've found if I run well and win I use a lot of the clock. With the same style if I run like crap and get stuffed, I lose the game/T.O.P battle.
I agree as well that the ACC Clock doesn't leave a lot of time for adjustments, so to make a rule would force people to run a play without adjustments???? Is the defense going to not adjust as well????? Just my two cents.

It just sounds to me like your btchin about somthing stupid. If some one wants to run the ball three times and wants to use clock thats their game plan let them do it. know one is telling you you cant play the way you want.

It's not about running the ball or playing ball control, there is a difference between that and someone who comes out in the 3rd quarter running the clock to 1 second every play.

Warren, like someone else posted, by the time you come out of the huddle hot route, send a guy in motion, maybe audible if you feel the need to, there isn't much time on the clock to snap the ball. I know I have snapped the ball with a just a few ticks or had to call timeout because I running out of time. I had no intention of melting the clock, just the way I run my offense. The only thing we can do is either add more time next season, or turn off accelerated clock, which isn't going to happen. So to me this another dead issue that you have brought up. When you signed up for league, you knew there was accelerated clock and no rule against melting the clock, but yet you signed up. Deal with it or resign its that simple as we got plenty of other players wanting to join the league. If you want to speed the game up, run no huddle. Thread is now closed.
