With her book tour in full swing she seems to be all over the news. The cover of Newsweek made me think though. The only reason she is liked is because she is attractive. She doesn't really have any new ideas, and her intelligence seems to be low for a person of her stature. Must be nice to be able to succeed because you are attractive.

Everything about a campaign has a reason. Every word, facial expression, action is all manufactured.

Her being a woman is also a part of it.
Her being a mom is also a part of it.
Her being big on religion is also a part of it.
Her being a decent looking lady keeps media attention on her and in the public eye.

It's all about marketing. How many different groups can you get to identify with your icon. The more the better. But to say her looks have nothing to do with it I think is incorrect. Palin gets attention not just because she's easy to look at, but its definitely a part of it.

And lets be clear, there are no remotely attractive female candidates so she automatically looks better than her female colleagues.

Are you kidding? You would be extremely lucky to have a woman who is still that attractive when she is 45+ years old. You can find an "ugly" picture of ANY attractive person (which is not to say that is an ugly picture), but you would have a very tough time finding pictures that make ugly women look hot.
