What is your guys usual class setup?

I use the AUG Bling with the stability bar and the thermal scope with the Rocket Launcher or Grenage Launcher as my second gun. My perks are Bling, Stopping Power, and Radar Jammer.

I don't die alot, but I'm generally pretty modest on the kill count too. I get the Radar Kill Streak alot, but rarely get the Harrier or Attack Helicopter ones.

I tend to move slowly protecting angles using cover and careful aiming, but I'm not as accurate as I would like to be - which results in a lot of assists that could have been kills.

If I find a good spot, I'll hang out for no longer than 45 seconds. I find that moving around is better than staying still. Once I spray fire, I always find a new spot soon after.

I struggle alot if I try to switch gears and play aggressively.

How about you guys?

Main setup is Scar w/Silencer, scavenger pro, cold blooded and radar jammer. Sometimes ill use scar with holo-scope with same perks. Makes u virtually invisible to radar and I run n gun. K/D took a nose dive when I started playing more headqtrs and domination b/c I prefer to attack rather than defrnd.

I'm only at level 12, do i haven't unlocked much, but I usually go with:

marathon/sleight of hand
stopping power
steady aim

M4 with red dot...

when i unlock more weapons, i'll pick something with some kick to it that has nice iron sights so i can use a silencer.

As for my style... I run n gun, which is a problem at the moment, because i'm still learning these maps

By far my favorites...

In COD4 if you were trying to level up, Headquarters was the way to go, but it looks like you get a ton of point playing domination

I haven't been playing too well lately, probably because relatives are over and I can't relax, but I was doing ok for a while with a few different guns.

I like the TAR with the heartbeat sensor and ACOG scope. I think any sort of scope is a must. The light machine guns are also pretty awesome IMO. I like the AUG I think it is, reloads the quickest and is the most balanced.

Most of the secondary weapons blow aside from the Striker semi-auto shotgun. That thing is brutal.

Bling is necessary for most of my set-ups which kinda sucks because I'd like to use other stuff. It's fun to use scavenger and just keep planting claymores everywhere, you can really screw guys up in free-for-all because they don't look for them.

Cold Blooded is pretty awesome, I usually use that or lightweight.

Perk 3 is usually ninja or scrambler, I don't know what to do with SitRep. Last stand is cool, I killed two guys with it once.

I have been struggling on team deathmatch, but I do pretty well on free-for-all. Usually get 20some kills and I can upgrade my weapons the fastest. I got a KD of .90 which isn't horrible considering I've never played any COD games until a few weeks ago. I usually try to take it slow, move around and try to find good spots. I find that I do my best when I just circle an area looking for enemies.

Considering I spend a lot of my time in one spot in enemy territory because I like to play the slayer and go for kills, a silencer is needed so I can pick them off one by one. When you are constantly near the opponent's spawn, it is too easy for multiple guys to double team you when you appear on the radar.

...cause when you fire with an unsilenced gun, you come up on the enemy radar and everyone turns your direction. If they have a shot, you're gonna be under fire immediately.

If you're using a silencer, it drastically reduces your gun's range. It's very realistic. The bang noise from guns is from the bullet breaking the sound barrier. A bullet fired from a silenced gun moves slowly so that the bullet never breaks that barrier.

The AUG HBAR is the fastest heavy machine gun to reload from my experience, the other ones take a very long time. I usually don't have to reload much though because they have so many shots, you can take out multiple enemies quick and I usually die before I reload. A lot of other guns reload quicker but it terms of just machine guns, it's the quickest. But I didn't unlock the last gun yet.

prestige 1 level 40. favorite class is.....
M16 Red Dot and Extra Mags
Bling Pro
Stopping Power Pro
Ninja Pro
Regular Nade
Stuns
M1014 as backup gun

I will also use the M4, P90, and Barret when im sniping. For some reason i find the Intervention very inaccurate, maybe it's just me.... Oh yeah and i use the Famas until i unlock the M16. Same attachments and perks.

I usually play domination. I got a great shot but my tactics arn't so great. And for this reason ill be really inconsistent. 40-8 one game then 24-24 the next. I try to get in a lot of one v one shooting battles so i tend to attack one section of the map, usually either side. This is also why i use red dot and not silencer. I trust my shot, and move pretty often. If you get used to it you can use your red dot on other people's mini map as an advantage. So I usually start out going to either side of the map, kill a couple people then move up into enemy territory a little more, and repeat this until im near their spawn. Next I'll post up in a place where i can see them a little after they spawn and get 3-4 kills. After this you gotta move. It can be just a slight movement, but people will nade you and sneak up behind you if you don't move because of the kill cam. You can't move too close to their spawn though because then they'll spawn behind you. Sometimes ill get impatient and this won't work as well. Ill try to rush up the side of the map and not post up for a while to pick people off that are coming, and get picked off myself. I hate going to the middle area of the map so i stick to the sides. However this tactic doesn't always work. If your team is too good then people will start spawning on the opposite side of the map or towards the middle. Or if your team is too bad then you won't be able to move up because they will all be focused on you.

Couple Tips....

Use the shotgun as your backup gun, and actually USE IT.
The Shottys are great in this game, and if you hear someone coming, or your going into a house where you know the enemy is, whip out your shotgun. People often forget to use them even if they have em.

Like i said earlier, try to stay away from the middle of the map. Even if you pick up a kill or two, its really hard to stay alive when you can be shot from either side.

Pick a couple guns and try to master your shot with them. For me I'd say its the M16 and M4. I still have a lot of improvement to do, but i got a real good feel for these guns. Even though it may not seem like it, each gun fires just a little differently, and you'll figure out little tricks for each one.

Lastly, just stick with it. This game gets very frustrating at times. That's why i reccomend trying to find some decent players to party up with. They don't have to be great, there's just a lot of pub scrubs that are terrible and very frustrating to be on a team with. So if your team sucks just leave the game and try and find a better team. Oh and it really really helps if your connection is good. Being 4 bar in a game is a HUGE difference than being 3 bar. So if you can, try to find games where your connection is full.

Feeders are the worst when they are on your team. Guys who go 3-18 are novices who should play play defensively, yet they run out to the middle of the map to get bucked time and time again.

Using the ACOG warms you up to using the thermal scope. It's better to start with the ACOG to get used to the aiming delay - which takes a split second longer when using the thermal.

GAV for once I have to disagree. I've studied this since using the silenced MP5 from COD4 and the range doesn't change. IMO its better than using a sniper rifle. I use the silenced SCAR-H with marothon, stopping power, and steady aim. Most of my kills on the big maps come from 150 yds and better with the SCAR. My k/d ration is around 1.10 and rising. The SCAR is the only gun Ill use. The cool thing about this game is once you learn the maps and the "spots" your kd ratio will only rise. Gav we'll go to private match next time were both on and Ill show you what I mean about silencers and range. Hit me on AIM.

Using a silencer is a good strategy (especially with with Cold-Blooded and Ninja), but it does lower your weapon's range - be it the SCAR or anything else. You may not think the range doesn't change, but it does. The speed of a silenced bullet doesn't break the sound barrier - while unsilenced bullets do. How could that not effect the gun's range?

I don't care for the silencers personally. They cut down on your guns distance and if you are camping all they have to do is watch the kill replay and they know where you are.

Can't answer that but I do know a silenced SCAR-H can kill from the farthest point on any map with the same accuracy as an un-silenced SCAR. 2-3 shots and they're dead. Maybe its a flaw in programming but I've been doing this since COD 4 with the MP5 headshots and all. I'm guessing its something the programmers over looked. All this with out any type of scope.

Personally, I'm horrible at the game. K/D ratio is probably in the .80 range, maybe worse. I tend to switch up my perks to try to get the most XP to keep leveling up. I've heard good things about the ACR so I plan on working to get up to that level and then I'll probably slow down. My setup right now..

M16A4 - ACOG Sight
AA12 - RDS
Claymore
Flash Grenades
Scavenger Pro
Hardline Pro
Scrambler
Final Stand (Death Streak)

Since I've started to get the hang of using Claymores, I've been really enjoying them. I normally play TDM, so I love hardline and the fact that only 2 kills gets my team a UAV. I tend to stay in one place for an extended period of time, normally a building in which I move all around. I'm a horrendous sniper, so I don't normally try to pick off enemies as they approach where ever I am.

However, I do tend to get a little too anxious at times and start more of a run and gun style which in the end, gets me killed a lot more often than I'd like.

I just unlocked Thermal Scope for two of my weapons. Can someone give me an explanation on them.
-Do both enemy and teammates appear in the scope? (it seems like it)
-Does the enemy appear white hot, teammates not? (seemed like it)
-or does a persons fatigue level determine their brightness?

I just unlocked them last night and didnt use either to much and just wasnt exactlyl sure.

BTW i have been using Unlimited Sprint with Lightweight. Thats fun when you can run full tilt and unlimited. I got 7 knife kills the first time I swithced to it, you close in on some people so fast they dont react fast enough.

My friend is an absolute beast at this game and tries to find funny set ups to use to kill people.

His best so far is:

Primary not important
Tactical Knife w/ any pistol
Throwing knives
Marathon
The no fall damage perk
Forgot the last one

Anyways he just runs around the map knifing people and nobody can catch him b/c he's too fast and can just jump off of ledges.

Its hilarious, but not recommended unless your really good.

Gav is correct on this one. The silencer does not reduce the actual range of the weapon (all bullets will go to the point where they are shot), but what it does is reduce the damage of the bullet as it continues to fly. So that midrange bullet that used to take 3 bullets to kill might take 4 with a silencer on. I could get into more techincals, but that's basically the premise. Silencer = reduced damage at longer ranges.

this makes sense. i put a silencer on the 50 cal. Usually its one shot, one kill. With the silencer i found if it wasnt a head shot, it usually took 2-3 shots.
I opened the sniper rifle after the 50cal, cant recall the name, it seems silenced and it doesnt seem to have the knock down effect as the 50 either.

So that midrange bullet that used to take 3 bullets to kill might take 4 with a silencer on. I could get into more techincals, but that's basically the premise. Silencer = reduced damage at longer ranges.

Exactly. The speed that something is going does not change how much gravity affects it. You can drop a bullet and shoot and bullet at the same time from the same height and they will hit the ground at the same exact time.

Silencers hurt the range which in time effects the damage....if your gonna use a silencer use bling and put FMJ on with it.

2 main guns : AUG HBAR (grip or heartbeat radar) , SCAR (red-dot sight)

perk 1 - slight of hand

perk 2 - stopping power ( unless im playing hardcore DTM , then i use coldblooded)

perk 3 - steady aim

I use different setups on my other guns but these are my favorites ...

K/D ratio - 1.2

Secondary: AA-12 Shotgun
Equipment: Frag Grenade
PerK 1: Slight of hand

Perk 3: Steady Aim

Am not good... At first I was going to just quit, cause it was getting really frustrating. I decided not to and just kept practicing, Am getting alot better am at level 20 right now. My kills have gone up a little, my boys set up Private matches and what they do is that they start hunting me down, this has improved the way I play drastically. I use to just camp all the time to now running and gunning. Can't wait to get bling and coldblooded perks

Usually an AR of some sort -- I'm a big fan of the Scar. In truth, all of the ARs are jacked up (except for the FAL -- which I can't get to work nearly as well as other single shot ARs like the G3 or M14).

Usually goes:
-Scar/Tar/M4/AUG
-Auto-shotty/M9
-Frag grenade (claymore for sniper, throwing knife for fun ;))
Perk 1: Bling/Slight of Hand
Perk 2: Stopping Power (sometimes Cold Blooded, Hardline)
Perk 3: Ninja Pro (replacement for Dead Silence -- plus, don't have to worry about those retarded heart-beat sensors)

I haven't played the game much recently. Thought it best to leave the 360 at my apartment while home for Thanksgiving. I'm having fun with it, but I cannot stand the "cautious" play style of the other players.

COD 4 was NOT a freaking campfest. Modern Warfare 2 is unequivocally a campfest. In COD4 if you played a game of team deathmatch, the time would almost ever expire. In the new game the level detail affords the ability to just sit back, aim down the sights, and wait for something to happen. I've had the time run out in more games just two weeks in than I ever experienced in COD4. Still have a 1.4 K/D ratio, but I've decided I'm not going to worry about that. Right now I'm just trying to build the skill of recognizing when/where players will be inevitably camping.

Kills are so easy with the beefed up perks/assault rifles with zero kick. This game is too easy for morons who suck at FPS to get kills. Oh well -- it's still a sweet game.

My K/D ratio would be waay worse if it wasn't for my brother playing on my GT.

I never played COD and I just hopped online from the start - which resulted in some really bad results. I was the worst player in every game for a few hours.

Exactly how I've turned out. Never really played COD before this year, but i hopped online right away and was consistently the worst player the first few days. Putting together 3-13's/5-16's or so.

But i got better, started to get comfortable with the MP5, and M4A1, and I'm pretty much a .500 player right now. Still can improve a lot, but no longer as you guys put it earlier, a "feeder" :p

I'm starting to really like the M16A4, it's only problem is in face to face battles and the power of the gun is a little inconsistent. Still, it's very easy to control mid to long range and I can get a lot more kills with it than if I used something full auto. I think I like it best with just the red dot scope, it's good close range and still works long. I got the Striker shotgun as secondary and I equip it sometimes once I get in close quarters.

I'm finally getting used to this game. I got my KDR from .90 to 1.02 in the past 2 weeks. I play a controlled style, I'm not a straight up camper but I will if I have to. You just can't run into the middle of the map or the enemies will pick you off from every angle. What I do is try to find a nice spot early and hold it down hoping I can get some killstreak rewards. Then, I'll usually just circle an area or work along the outside of the maps looking for enemies.

I've started to use the heartbeat sensors a little and while they can be cheap, I don't really care. It gets you better KDR numbers and that's all I care about.

This is my best setup:

ACR with red dot scope
Striker with grip
Sleight of Hand Pro
Lightweight Pro
Ninja Pro

I think the ACR is far and away the best gun in the game. I can work with most of the assault rifles, but usually the ACR is just so accurate.

I also like running around with the P90 with marathon and lightweight in free for all games.

AD I would take the silencer off the sniper rifle. I thought it took away to much stopping power on the Barrett. I didnt like it. If your using it to be ''stealth'' i would forget it for that reason. Guys figure out where you are from kill cams and just remembering where they died.
I either set up in spots with one entrance/exit and lay a clamore, OR snipe in an area and then move to another after about 3-4 kills. So I feel Im stealth in that way. Just my opinion.
The aug is one of the best guns in the game for accuracy and damage, build the kills up with that and unlock stuff and I wouldnt doubt if it becomes a favorite.
I also think the acog sight sucks, but you have to get 25 kills with it to get thermal (which I use on my sniper rifle).

My main set up is like this:

Primary: M16 with Red Dot Site and FMJ
Secondary: Stinger
Equipment: Claymore
Special Grenade: Smoke

Perk 1: Bling + Pro
Perk: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Last Stand

It works nice for me because I like to move from place to place. I aim in one direction while my claymore covers the other side. Because, I don't have Cold-Blooded on, enemies can detect me on the radar. And since they do detect me, usually they die by my claymore. Once it blows, I move on. Also, if I do get killed from the front, I have Last Stand. Usually I can get them back 30-50% of the time.

If I'm on a pretty bad team with the enemy flanking us easily, I need to make sure they can't detect me on their UAVs, so I switch to this set up.

Primary: Scar with Red Dot Sight
Secondary: Stinger
Equipment: Semtex
Special Grenade: Smoke

Perk 1: Seight of Hand + Pro
Perk 2: Cold-Blooded + Pro
Perk 3: Stead Aim

This one is more of a run and gun set up. It allows me to flank other enemies as I am undetectable by the enemy radar. Because I have Seight of Hand, I will usually have the advantage in 1 vs 1 situations. And of course steady aim helps my with my firing from the hip.

See this is what most people aren't like. They think they gotta go out and spawn rape for a high score even if it means they die more than they kill.

I'll take a guy who gets 1 kill with 0 deaths every time...well except for the effed up game types like HQ where you gotta stir sh$t up.

The only time having slightly more kills than deaths is bad is when the deaths accumulate and give the other side perks that they might use in a better fashion than you use yours.

That's why I have the dual shot as my secondary, I also use slight of hand with this setup. I catch one guy coming in with the M16, hit another with one of the shots and hopefully hit the other with the other shot. Now if there are more than that I'm ****ed cause even with faster reload the shots are slow reloaders.
