do all of your challenges reset as well? i have been switching up my perks, weapons and attachments just to complete all of the challenges and max everything out. i just noticed that i have been doing a good job of ranking up. im at 54 now.
so when i reach 70, are all of my challenges going to reset also? i know the gun ones do, but the stuff like "get X number of kills with Bling" or "shoot down X number of helicopters"... all that stuff.
and also, if i complete it before i prestige, do i have to complete it again?

It really doesn't take very long to get back to it.

screw that, lol. like one of them is "Get 750 kills using Slight of Hand". right now i am at 330, and i dont use sleight of hand. lol, so i'll never get that one without making a very conscience effort to do so. and i dont want to have to use a perk i dont want to use for an additional 750 kills instead of just the 420 i have now. same for scavenger.im at 114 now and need to get to 250.
i dont want to have to recoup all that again.

Prestiging sucks in the short run because you have to start ALL over. The positive is that you get a neat icon that shows everyone you play way too much, and you get an extra class. Also it makes the game last longer since you have more things to strive for. I, like you, and not sure about doing it since when I did it on COD4 I got to like level 14 and sold the game. Iron sights suck sometimes, but it should go by faster since now you have better aim, an understanding of how to play, and are just overall better.
Ive had guys on my buddy list who are almost higher than me in rank and I started my 1st run 2 weeks before they prestiged.

see... i forgot about the additional class. thats a pretty good incentive. screw the extra emblems and call signs, lol.
when its all said and done i want to have the following classes:
1. a sniper setup.
2. a riot shield setup.
3. a setup that has something to shoot down choppers and harriers.
4. a setup with a silencer.
5. a setup with a noob tube.
that 6th one would be nice to have as a wild card. one i can switch up according to game mode and map.

The classes are definitely worth it. I want to make a Speedy Gonzalez one. I made one for fun in a small map and was on speed running around shanking everyone. I think I ended up like 25-10 just going around cutting people.
Unlimited sprint + Speed + Commando Pro = Knifer.
If I only had the tactical knife...

my riot shield setup has that setup. with twin rangers as my secondary. cant wait til i get the 1887's so i can be overly cheap, lol.

The tactical knife is great - I have it for the M9.
As for prestige, I don't plan on it. I'm at 70 and I'm cool. I'm working on unlocking almost everything, and I don't really need the additional classes. I'm quick enough at swapping out my classes for each game if I need to anyways.

I've prestiged, and I'm back up to Level 50 as of this morning. You unlock more challenges once you prestige, which makes it easier to level up the second time around. Having another class is also really helpful. That said, once I hit 70 again, I'll have to decide if I want to prestige again or not...

Basically you get an extra class, a new icon next to your name and you get to start all over.

lol this game is a hoax. Great strat on their part though. Basically give you a ton of setups and other things to do to keep you occupied.
Why does anyone need all the different setups though. I would think you'd just use the one you're best at. I mean aside from unlocking diff things.
I have a ton of fun playing. And I'm actually starting to get better.
Although some days I spawn and get killed, spawn and get killed, I run, and get killed.
All the non human death ie. Harrier, bomb dropping etc are kinda lame imo...

well different game modes and different maps can have different "best" things. like maybe you are a good sniper, but a sniper would be useless on rust, lol.

Its not a hoax. Think about it. Replay value is key these days and it works. Not only do you have multiple things you can use, you have different things with different combinations that earn more points.
Now if you just wanted to use 1 class and be done then yes it wont be as fun, but if you wanted to actually use everything then it can be a lot of fun and worth it.

I've been a level 70 for a week and I am not convinced I should prestige...It seems like it took me forever to get here and to start over would not be fun imo.
In the meantime I am just counting down the days until Bad Company 2 drops...I think this is the MW killer we've all been waiting for.

Right now I have a number of different setups, some I even need to change up on the run even with 6 classes.
RDS Setup w/Shotgun
RDS Setup w/Launcher
ACOG Setup w/Shotgun
ACOG Setup w/Launcher
Thermal Setup
Sniper Setup
Speed Setup w/Akimbo P90s
Normally I run with just a single ACOG setup that has One Man Army so I can switch to a launcher if needed but...

I agree about replay value KKing. Which is what I said - it was smart on their part.

if you play different game modes you want different setups. you not gonna use your deathmatch setup for search and destroy.

It only takes a few rounds to get it. Just go marathon and stopping power with the 9MM. I got it in 3 rounds and I'm not great. Just had my M16 with HB sensor, close to a guy, switch sprint cap. Did really good in scrap yard and Skid row.
Now that I have it I must say...just sprint kill sprint kill is boring as hell tho. IMO.

It only takes like 15 seconds to change a class around. It's not that big of a deal...just switch between rounds.
