Can't connect online with oldschool

Even port forwarded last night and still couldn't. This will be a simmed game i guess as I don't know what else to do.

Yeah we tried several times. Spent almost an hour and a half. I walked him thru how I DMZ my PS3 on our Dlink Router. He called Verizon and they still couldn't get him straight. Hate that we didn't get to play.

What determines this kind of stuff?
I had no problem connecting to Que.
I usually don't have any trouble connecting to anyone for that matter. I did have one instance where me and another guy could not connect but we both rebooted our PS3 and viola it worked no problem.

We tried that probably 10 times. This is basically the only time this has EVER happened to me.

I am not saying it is anyones fault. I was just wondering what it is that causes this.
