Had a wonderful experience at church yesterday.

Just wanted to share with you how church went yesterday on the Holy Sabbath.

My buddy, Marc, who I had not talked to since 2003 just recently called me out of the blue asking me how I was doing. We got to talking a bit. Come Saturday he asked me if I'd like to watch the NFL playoffs with him on the Holy Sabbath (Sunday). I told him actually I'm going to meet Andy Reid tomorrow (Elder Reid is a member of our congergation). Immediately my buddy said he wanted to go. I told him I'd pick him up tomorrow without mentioning at all that we were going to meet Elder Reid at church. So I picked my buddy up yesterday and when he got into the car I started to share with him the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and the vision that Joseph Smith had of our Heavenly Father and Christ. He knew nothing about the book of mormon or Joseph Smith, yet was very intrigued by it, all the while as I'm driving he doesn't know we are going to church. So then we get to church and he gets into the chapel and sits down. First thing we did is sing hymn "I Stand All Amazed." After the incredible musical number my buddy turns to my all teary eyed saying thank you, and asking if he could please come with me next week and every week from now. Right then and there he gained his testimony in knowing that the church of Jesus Christ of latter- days saints is true. He now also knows that indeed Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.


I testify unto all of you that these events I've written down in this post that I'm sharing with you are true. And I say this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I always find it interesting how people are so threatened by the Mormon faith, it isn't any more fantastic then any other Religion being practiced and the people are usually good American people who would give you a helping hand if you needed it.

With that said there is an anger people have against LDS members, goes all the way back to the beginning where people tried to kill Mormons and actually ran them out of the US.

There is a mormon.org website and such publications from the church with us being referred to as mormon because many people have an easier time knowing of us and who we are when we say mormon as oppossed to latter- day Saints.

Yet I can tell you that the only way you can hold the priesthood, being ordained by God, is if you've received the "laying on of hands" for the Holy Ghost after baptism.

When Christ was here on earth this is how He set up becoming ordained. Receiving the Holy Ghost can only be done by those whom have had the priesthood passed down from Christ to His apostles and prophets then unto all members of His church. This order in which Christ set while hear on earth was lost because of the Apostasy in the chritian churches following Christ death and the death of all the prophets and apostles. People changed important doctorine and ordinances and had no revelation from God because the prophets and apostles were killed off. Thankfully though, Joseph Smith has restored these ordinances in God's true church today. So now all are able to become ordainded by God should they choose to do so by following the prophet.
