Second matchup of the playoffs.

This game puts the veteran Huntin1's Packers against Thizzloc's Cowboys

Packers

Passing- Tavaris Jackson yes Tavaris is this teams field general. He is prone to throw some int's, but doesn't do much passing. When he does pass Louis Murphy is his favorite target, but don't sleep on the TE.

Rushing- James Davis is the workhorse of this team. 260 carries on the season! This team does not stray far from the run!

Defense- This team has made C.Woodson and D.Butler into shutdown CB's with their scheme. DE Evander Hood provides most of the pressure. This team plays very good defense.

Cowboys

Passing- Donavan McNabb QB's this team and had very impressive numbers this season. Throwing for over 3400 yards and 31 tds. Who is his favorite target? Steve Smith with 70 catches on the year. Derrick Ward sees the most action if Smith is blanketed.

Rushing- Derrick Ward ran for over 1100 yards and 13tds on the season. He can run and catch passes. Will be a difference maker in this one.

Defense- Two big time DE's provide alot of pressure in this defense. Dockett and Vanden Bosch coming off the edges is trouble for any QB.
T.McGee will be on Murphy for this game and his 8int's on the season might come in handy if the Packers throw the ball.

Overview- James Davis early and often. Will Jackson be able to step up in the pocket or outrun the DE's coming at him all game?
Can Steve Smith find any holes to get open in the Packers stingy scheme?

Packers -3 @ Cowboys

Your favoring the Packers? I don't see it. McNabb will shred that defense and take the running game out of the picture for the Packers. Without the run what will they do? Nothing. Cowboys easily.

Ive had a chance to see both these teams play, and I personaly think Greenbay has too much momentum going in.

The Packers seem like a well oiled machine. The personal at times can be interchangable into the scheme's on both sides of the ball.

Cowboys have a one dimesional game plan that centers around a Steve Smith for Donavan McNabb roll out passing deep ball. They maybe able to pass at times , but the critical component is Packer Defense. I figure a patrial shutdown will happen.
We also cant expect much out of the Dallas D, they have been wishy washy all year.

After some early season struggles Packers Coach Huntin showed why he won a PML championship. This team is young and hungry and led by rookie standout HB James Davis.

The Cowboys are flying high with WR Steve Smith and his league leading 20 TD catches. However we feel the Cowboys are ripe for an early post season meltdown

Packers - 30
Cowboys - 24

From playing both teams i think that the Dallas offense is a little inconsistent especially when they get down in yards. mcnabb will not be as effective unless he launches an all out assault on Green Bay's secondary. If mcnabb can keep from being sacked, use his mobility to break the zone and go DEEP the cowboys can tale an early commanding lead. The dallas defense is questionable at best, they play too much zone and dont have the pass rush to make jackson pay for his mistakes.

Green Bay also has some issues regarding pass defense. If done correctly, you can systematically launch a west coast style attack on GB, IF you keep the deep threat plausable. The packers play a combination of man and zone so its imperative you make them pay when the zone breaks down or the pass rush is picked up.

The Packers best asset is that you have to decide early if you are going to go after TJack or will you make him be a qb and make throws. Tjack missed a ton of throws vs Seattle and avoided some monstrous pass rushes alike, this is the dilemma the Boys will face because GB can hurt you when TJ has too much time from an over pursued pass rush. Now is the question of James Davis, How much success will Dallas have defending him? Total! Davis is monster load to stop but the cowboys have the tacklers needed to accomplish the task. GB will try to get davis the ball in different ways because of the pressure TJack faced in Seattle due to Davis ineffectiveness. Look for davis in flats, passes and screens more-so than traditional handoffs.

Overall the key to winning IMO for
Dallas is to a) open very aggressive and stay balanced b) dont expend too many resources on sacking Tavares Jackson

and Green Bay is to a)Get davis the ball all over the field, not just from hand offs b) guard the slot wr's for the Cowboys tough.. they are romo's favorite targets

prediction GB 27 Dallas 20
