Ok, so I decided to take Mississippi St but I don't know what type of offense to use. I have a fas QB but I don't want to over use him. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

...Hmmm...I'm thinking.....wait...It's coming to me.....that's it!...Power Spread!! LOL!!...what else would you expect from me??.....but if you don't want to over use your QB...get your HB involved and mix in a little Ace Normal or I-Formation football and pound it out :)...I'm not sure if Miss St. is suited for passing the ball??? ....I'm Playing with South Carolina right now and I have a 6'1" 245 lbs QB (Pinkins) so I like to get him about 8 pure carries a game (QB Draws, Sweeps, Keepers)....he also gets another 5-7 or so off of Option plays....but my HB gets about 25 carries a game...eventhough I run the majority of my offense from the Gun I take more of the 4 yards and a cloud of dust approach...ball control and power running....I get everyone I can involved in the running game (QBs HBs WRs) it sets up the PA pass and the passes down the field....(if you watch any of the Gamecocks and Lou Holtz...it's a lot like that....)
My Custom Playbook as of last night:
Power T
Ace Normal
I-Formation Normal
SG Ace Twins
SG 2-Back Slot
SG Y-Trips
SG Bunch
SG Trips
SG Spread
..Don't know if that helps...but that is what I would do...

MSU *IS* an offense...to football. Terrible team in real life, Sylvester has his work cut out for him.
Anyway, I have found in this game that running is king, so I'd start there. If you have a decent line, FB and HB you should be ok. In particular, if you can run between the tackles well, be patient and chew clock, and play solid defense you'll do fine.
Assuming the above criteria I'd go with a playbook with stuff like this:
Ace Spread
Ace Normal
Ace Big Twins
I Normal
Flex Normal
Shotgun Spread
Shotgun 5 wide
(mix in another I formation and SG and whatever else you are comfortable with)
The balanced formations help keep the defense honest. Shifts against the balanced formation runs are rediculously easy to exploit with the quick run audibles. If you don't really use your TE's as receivers, consider subbing them out for some backup OLmen for extra blocking oomph.

Looking at my O-line I'm not sure that I will be able to run up the gut because my G/C aren't that good and also considering that I'm in the SEC I shouldn't try to run it up the gut. And Air Raid, I like your philosophy but I don't really feel with the Shotgun. And Fluffy, that's why I'm taking MSU. they deserve better and I like that idea about ubbing for the TEs because mine suck. Thanks for the help.

The Devil you say!
I was tearing UF a new one last night with that philosophy...right up to the point when the XBox decided to lock up with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter
Besides, running up the gut has always been a cornerstone of SEC football.

What I was saying is that they have a higher level of competition than I am used to because I just finished with SDSU which is the the Mountain West. I didn't deal with teams like LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, and also non conference teams. I played around in practice mode and I have found that I can kind of run the ball but when I pass I get happy feet. 82 speed at QB will do that but i want to use that to my advantage. And my RBs keep fumbling the rock so I'm not sure that I trust them. And by shifts against the formation do you mean the d-lin and lbs shifting or is there something else that I'm missing.

Yes. This is actually a case where the psychic D hurts itself. If you line up in ace normal on your first play from scrimmage and call the HB sting (which normally goes left) and the D slides left, that is frankly rediculous. But, the run audible makes 'em pay. Just stick it to the other side.
A shifted line vs a balanced formation should always end up being a benefit to the offense since it gives you numbers to a side (motion can increase that advantage).
As for your fumble problem, are you doing a lot of spins? I get fumbles when I do that in traffic. Easy answer is to go vanilla and dont spin. I dunno if there is a protect-the-damn-ball button in this game. They have juke, spin, sprint and dive, I'm sure there's enough buttons left for that one ;)

No I'm not spinning but I am using a stiff arm. And I usually use balanced formations and motion to try and get a numerical advantage. I was thinking about using Ace Normal and other 2 TE formations to run out of. I was also thinking that since my team isn't that great that I should just run a ball control offense and swap out my RBs with each other and use PA to hit em deep and keep them off the run.

I never stiffarm. I use spin out in space if I'm trying to get past one guy (works better than juke for me).

Mississippi St is now a WEST COAST offense team. That is what Croom is trying to install at Miss.St. As for talent, one scout said after visiting the Bulldogs during the spring, he said only 30 out of 105 plyers were true Div.I plyers. He said that less than 30 could bench over the 300 mark on the whole team with that he said is how low the talent pool is in Starksville.
I know Mike Henig who owns Henig Furs here in Montgomery Alabama and told me his son is at Miss St now plying 3rd string QB.
It will take some time for MSU to compete for the SEC championship, I hope they keep him there to let him work his magic. But, as for Mike Shula at BAMA, a couple of more losses like to Kentucky and Southern Miss the next couple of weeks the gumblings will have already started.

...MSU is a mess and it will take some serious time for them to get to the tops of the SEC (if they ever get there?)...it will be interesting to see what Croom can do.....
....Bama is a tough place to coach...if the fans/boosters don't like you...it doesn't matter if you win or lose they will find a way to get you out of there...I don't think Shula will be there for much longer...not that he is a bad coach...he just doesn't fit the Bama/SEC mold of coaches.....

I got news for you, pretty much NOBODY fits the Bama mold of coaches unless A) they played for Bear Bryant or B) they ARE Bear Bryant. And mostly, just B.
My biggest fear here at FSU is that when Bobby finally retires (if he doesn't die on the sidelines first) our boosters will act the same way as the Bama boosters and never let go of the legacy and allow themselves to move on to something new.
Of course, if we do end up that way, it will be easier to get better tickets ;)

Who do u think will take over after Bobby? Jeff? Tommy? I hope not Jeff for sure unless he grows up quickly learns how to coach offense.
Before the season Tommy made a interesting quote about his Dad and job at Clemson. He said he will finish his contract at Clemson, and he wanted to retire to watch his Dad (bobby) finish the last 2 yrs of his career. This was a actual read during the preseason that I read about Tommy.
I think its more like, I will finish with Clemson and get the hell out and help my Dad his last few years and maybe, maybe, FSU will consider me for the job. What do u think?
