Being a Sniper

I tried being a sniper last night. I had a couple one-shot kills; but I crept up on a guy and put 3 bullets into his back(no homo) with the Barrett and he lived! How is that possible. It's hard enough to hit him once from a distance, but if he can survive 3 shots then why snipe???

I like to snipe a lot on Ground War because there's more targets and more idiots running around aimlessly. The Barrett does 70 damage w/o Stopping Power so there's no way you hit 'em 3 times. W/ stopping power it's a 1 shot kill unless you hit 'em in the arm or leg. Check out the charts in the Sticky that Lev posted if you're confused at all.

Well, I wasn't using stopping power with Barrett but I know I hit him 3 times because I got the funky crosshair you get when u hit someone. Either way, a .50 caliber shot should take one shot to kill someone... Lol

pain killer or last stand would be the only way you hit him three times. Chest and above should always be a one shot kill with stopping power, but due to lag issues there are a **** load of hit markers in this game when you hit a guy up high. Sniping was a lot more fun in cod4

you can sometimes get those crosshairs when you miss also. and sometimes, the guy will move and they still give you those crosshairs like he's still in the same spot. i hate that.
