USA robbed of another game. They should be 2-0-1, instead they will be 0-0-3.
This is another blow to USA soccer. USA DOMINATED Algeria and end up in a tie.

Terrible calls in this game alone
Beasely tripped on a fast break that certainily would've been a goal, it was just him and the keeper and it produced a yellow card....should've been a red
Beasely handball in the box when it hit his chest that produced a yellow...he was also legitly shoved
A US player was elbowed right in the face BLATANLY by an Algerian in the box. Should've been an imediate ejection and a penalty kick, but instead the Goalie just clears it.
Then to top off the bad call rant offsides that cancels a goal when the guy was onsides if not even.

I am full blooded Itallion so....I've supported them from the start, but I also want my home country to do good. But if it comes down to Italy vs USA I'm going for Italy.

Great win for USA. I'm going for both USA and Mexico. I'm full Mexican, so their my team as well. USA probably has the best chance of moving on deeper in the tournament though. Mexico would have to pull a miracle against Argentina.

what would be a bigger upset... the us beating argentina in soccer or a few years back when argentina beat the usa basketball team?

I think the US beating the Argentinean soccer team. I mean your talking the WORLD CUP. Argentina is not supposed to lose against an inferior team.
And if Mexico beats Argentina, that's a HUGE upset as well. I think everyone knows that Argentina SHOULD win this one.
USA beating Argentina is a bigger upset than Mexico beating Argentina though.

i dont know, i mean you had a usa team that had beaten opponents by an average of 45 points per game and hadnt lost in international play for over 12 years. undefeated for 12 years...
world cup is big but so is the olympics. world cup bigger stage, but it wasnt just USA being the favorite, they were thought to be unbeatable

Def USA BAsketball team losing..........
If USA Beat Brasil 4 or Italy 4-8 years ago in the World Cup that would be the bigger upset

I'd lean towards this more than anyone else's response so far. and I grew up in Argentina, absolutely LOVED that Gold medal Argentina basketball team and am huge with the futbol.. LOL
USA Basketball was (still is) much more highly regarded than what Argentina futbol is right now. To match that Argentine Olympic Gold, Team USA's soccer team would have to beat Brasil in the final. That's the better comparison, because even if Argentina's looking good so far in the WC, Brasil is still, and this won't change for a while, the predominant favorite. Landon Donovan would have to play even better than what he is now, which is hard to believe.

US vs Ghana... should be good. Ghana was better than Germany last night, but failed to score on their numerous chances.
Key for US, as usual, is don't fck up the 1st half!! They got super lucky vs Algeria on that shot that hit the crossbar... but they must be more focused in the 1st half.
Hopefully the refs call a good one, the US has been really getting bent over on some of these calls.

This pisses me off. Were you born in Italy? If not, then America is your native country. Italy vs USA, and you root for Italy? Maybe I'm in the minority, but I hate that attitude.
Sorry for the rant.

Nice finish by Donovan. We were near the stadium for this game (arrived too late to get tickets) and we all went crazy. So cool!!
