According to EA sports there are 2 updates scheduled for the game to deal with two issues. First update (approx start of nfl season) - Strategy pad option for old school functionality. The second update (approx end of sept) to deal with

- Fixing a bug to allow friend invites to ranked games

- Generally making pass defense more effective

- Reducing number of broken tackles

- Fixing user blitz exploit(s)

- Tuning injuries

- Tuning CPU & GameFlow play-calling logic

- Improving play action blocking

- Improving kick return blocking

- Improving online connectivity issues with kick meter lag, media streaming, etc.

- Random stability improvements

Given the two updates scheduled for Madden 11 when would you like to begin the season?

Lets wait until the stuff gets fixed. Even if we start mid sept we have more then enough time to get more then one season finished.

I'm not exactly sure why everyone wants to wait until the patch comes out. Sure, they will fix a few things such as the QB spy blitz exploit and the strategy pad. I don't think those are showstoppers though. The more time that passes the less interest there will be. Just talking from experience.

Yeah i feel the same way they might fix a bunch of stuff but then someone will find a new qb spy glitch, if we wait for ea to fix madden we will be waiting a while. everyone is on a level playing field whether we start now or in a month plus i agree interest will fade, there are some good games coming out halo and fifa 11 before the supposed date of the 2nd patch which could easily fall back into October.
