Panthers 42 Giants 7
First Quarter
Giants won the kick toss and decided to let the Panthers get the ball first. The Giants D did not waist time forcing a fumble and recovering it on the second play of the game. Coach bootz " we dropped the chilupa on the second play..I was very concerned about that for the rest of the game." The eagles started to move the ball with a nice mix of pass and run the the pressure got to vick as he threw the ball when he was hit to the beast barnes for the int.
The panthers waist no time after the turnover having Matty Ice hit the "Made Man" Meachum on the next play for a 62 Yard TD.
Second Quarter
The giants started to move the ball but could not convert on third down punting it back to the panthers. The panthers drove down the field and Matty Ice ended up connecting with Miles "Automatic Austin" in the back of the end zone for a 16 yard TD.
On the next kick off Cribbs ran into the Hit Stick Merriman and let loose of the ball, it was scooped up and returned into the endzone to put the panthers up 21-0. On the play Cribbs was hurt doctors say he has a broken foot and will miss 7 weeks of the season.
The giants on the next drive hand the ball off to Ray Rice and he ends up taking it 68 yards for a TD making the score 21-7. The panthers come back with a couple of short throws on their next drive then Matty Ice hits Heyward "biskets" Bey on a slant that he takes 60 yards for a TD making the score 28-7 panthers going into half.
Third Quarter
The Giants got the ball at half and started to drive down the field with ease. Hitting the short plays and a few runs with vick. Then the pressure got to him and Mcclain ended up coming up with a pick. The panthers milked the rest of the clock taking the ball into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
The giants capped off the drive from the third with a 2 yard TD run from Best. Making the score 35-7 Panthers. After a couple of incompletions and a sack the Giants were forced to go 36 and out.
The panther with the ball decided to get their run game on pounding it and eating clock up after a 3 min drive they capped off a 2 yard TD run with best sealing the game 42-7 panthers.
Coach Bootz after the game" I am very happy how our D played, we for the most part kept a running QB contained. Any time you can hold the opp QB to 5 for 16 and 2 picks thats a good game for our D. We recorded 3 sacks on the day I could not be more proud of them. As far as Offense goes, we found open WR, we did not force passes but let our WR come back to us. A good over all game. We lost our starting RG due to a MCL tear and I do not know when we will be back. We have a tuff battle next week against a division rival the bucs. Should be fun and should be tuff but we always look forward to the challenge."
