Ummm...... this sounds like a post for the Madden forum but Mike Vick is really hard to stop in Madden as well as in real life. I would try defenses that have a spy or better yet a double qb spy. I would also avoid playing too much man coverage beause there will usually be no one assigned to the QB and Vick will be able to run as much as he wants. Zone coverage with the QB Spy will make it a bit more difficult for Vick to take off and run.

U have to get manual pressure on the qb to stop the ply action pass. I was plying this guy, and he would do the fake snap. I had been out of commission with NCAA bcause I have been trying to get the hang of Madden. But once I started to get my blitzing back. I stop his cheesy fake snap ply. It is the same for ply action pass. U have to get manual pressure on the qb, b4 he sets up. When I am manual blitzing, I try to never go for the ply action pass. I normally will attack the qb, and let my defense attack the rb. 3-3-5 zone blitz is perfect for this. U can blitz the safety and the Linebacker will attack the rb. So the main thing to stop the ply action pass is to get manual pressure on the qb.

I use Virginia Tech with Marcus Vick and the defenses that give me the most trouble are the 3-3-5. With more speed on the field it reduces the effectiveness of Vick and with 2 safeties set up as outside linebackers giving you 5 "linebackers" makes running the option trickier.
However with the OL and TE's that VT has if you competition knows how to play he can counter the 3-3-5 with Ace normal and pound the ball with some solid RB's.
However you did ask about VIck so there you go.

If someone would try to pound the ball up the middle, I would pinch the line, and adjust. It is always a cat and mouse game. I normally don't have a problem with scrambling/running Qbs. I have plyed enough as a scrambling/running Qb, and so I know how to counter it as well. It is really up to the awareness of the defense, and the abilities of ur opponent.

Notice I didn't say "pound it up the middle" and only said "pound the ball" by pinching in the line you open yourself up for G-T and T-TE gap runs, as the TE can usually handle the Playside Safety and the G-T combo can take care of the DE and LB.
But as you say this just goes back to the cat and mouse game.
Variety is the key. If you can keep them off balance (offense and Defense) you can pretty much do what you want.
People misunderstand "pounding the ball" with dive plays.
